iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

But I feel God opened a door last year when we were invited to join the panel—and honestly, it was pretty cool. And despite my trepidation, my prayer is that this year, we’ll continue to do some good. Thanks, again, and God bless you!

These are all complicated places for a Christian to navigate. I know that by going to AM, I’m associating our ministry with it. Is it the right choice? I honestly don’t know.

100

I’ve been to Ecchi Expo a number of times, too; that brought us hate from a different side, but I really couldn’t care less. I’m here to share Jesus love by serving, loving, and teaching.

200

Some of these places on Twitter resemble the image of the Anime Matsuri attendee. But honestly, it’s also just a place where thousands of otaku are gathering, and that’s our mission field. I’ll go wherever they are.

A lot of people don’t like it, but I think a lot of them are shamed or influenced by my tweets. And I hope many who have big platforms and poor theology are learning from me. They influence so many people and need to hear where they’re erring.

200

For instance, I’m not active here on Bsky in part because I’m Twitter, which needs so much “medicine.” There, I tweet every day at Christians who don’t live according to Jesus’ word, who lack mercy and grace, who follow a Christ of their own making instead of the Jesus of the Bible.

300

But we as Christians are called into the places where God is needed. Jesus said that isn’t not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. So away from our Discord and other “safe places” I go and into the places where God is little known or where He is used to press agendas.

The answer has everything to do with faith. I would rather, honestly, just sit in a safe space writing to my audience from behind my keyboard. That would be a whole lot less stressful, to be sure.

Hi. This is me! First of all, this is a fair question, and I thank you for being pretty kind about how you’re approaching it. I mean…why would we associate ourselves with a con primarily related to people who are associated with serious, hurtful crimes?

Yay! I’ve been wanting to rewatch this.

Instead of “Happy Memorial Day,” maybe go with a more solemn, “May we always remember.” Of if you’re an otaku—“It’s a terrible day for rain.”

Secrets of the Silent Witch is the anime and light novel fan’s answer to Harry Potter: Magic school setting? Check. Charming cast? Check. High stakes and addicting storytelling? For sure. The action’s a bit quieter, but the writing’s more mature—and full of the tropes we otaku adore.

After weeks in approval hell, we finally posted my vacant assistant position. You guys have no idea how excited I am—I'm in desperate need of help. 🙃

I don’t love growing older, but I do love having more years to look back on. It’s easier to give myself grace when I’m not just measuring five years of growth, but twenty-five.

Why would someone be so rude though 😔

twwk // charles @twwk.bsky.social · 09/04/2025

It’s super old school and super VN-formatted. I liked it a lot. @khakibluesocks.bsky.social just found it boring, though haha. The ratings have been really low but I wonder if it’s b/c viewers now don’t really know Key. I’d love to hear what you think of it.

twwk // charles @twwk.bsky.social · 09/04/2025

I dunno…episode one of Summer Pockets felt pretty charming to me. Even if it plays like a “generic Key-type series” rather than the real deal, I’ll happily take this over another Day I Became a God. VERY happily.

For real. :( We ended up writing like four deep dives on the show—and still have more to say. There's so much richness in it and its themes. It's exciting to me when an original anime is willing to tell a story with depth like this. SO GOOD.

twwk // charles @twwk.bsky.social · 03/04/2025

The one anime I desperately want to watch this season is the one anime that doesn't have a distributor in North America. :/

Celebrating Studio Ghibli by posting AI-generation Ghibli-style illustrations is like celebrating Christmas by throwing rocks at kids.

The “watch party” at my theater was six people. Four didn’t stay for the bonus material at the end, leaving immediately after the last episode ended. 😅 Like the manga, I thought it was FINE. It was cute. I’m going to write up a first impression for @beneaththetangles.bsky.social that’ll post soon.
