We're close. Will be my 79th of the 92 with Luton (have a couple not with Luton), plus a lot of non-league grounds. Bolton on the last day should get me to 80.

Bit of both, probably. The programme notes from yesterday refer to this: more stringent financial rules next season, which we have to be prepared for. Plus I guess JW getting his way over which players he doesn't believe he can move forward with. www.lutontown.co.uk/en/news/from...

That BBC journo needs to improve their reading comprehension, though. As per the interview, the whole construction process will take 26 months, not the piling. That's gonna cause a few meltdowns 🙄

...the Club were embarrassed as they're usually good at keeping things under wraps, the deal's moved so fast it all looks really cackhanded, and everyone's blaming Gary Sweet as usual.

I have no idea what's actually happened, but at a guess something like: Alfie got wind Millwall were in for him, blindsided MB by asking not to play so as not to risk injury, Millwall wanted it hush-hush so they didn't get gazumped, Mike Simmonds put 2+2 together & wrote a story...

It's not just us though. Undisclosed fees are pretty much the norm in the EFL.

Exeter have a great record of bringing through young talent to the first team. Remember watching Ethan Ampadu running the show for them aged 15.

Kone, L1 Player and Young Player of the Season, so clearly has something about him. Only 21 so not that surprising if he ran out of steam at the end of his first season in professional football. L1 is a slog. I wouldn't be unhappy if we opted to see what we could make of him.

It's the Prem that did it, & the way you're obliged to be there. That fence they had to put up on the bridge so people couldn't peer into reception is highly symbolic to me. Not so easy to just switch back, & think the club have struggled as much as us fans. Hopefully we've all learned a bit now.

Not likely to be either. If it's reached this stage, both sides will believe they have a good case.

The first few seasons I watched us (back in the '70s) we were in orange so I guess it's always felt the most Luton to me 🙂

1959 for me as well, though born at home and not in the L&D. We lived off the New Bedford Road so Galley Hill and Warden Hill was our regular family walk. Barton Hills on the bus when we were feeling adventurous. Not there in '74 but I will be tomorrow.

1) We're not spending £40m on increased capacity. 2)We could have spent £140m on players and still got relegated, as any Ipswich fan will testify. 3) It was always made clear the PL season would help fund the stadium. 4) If you're aiming to stir up engagement on here, you're doing it brilliantly 😀

You can't switch a stadium on and off depending on the league you're in. The stadium is the key to future sustainability at Champ level & maybe above & long-term the Club's in a good place irrespective of what happens in the next couple of seasons. That you can't see it doesn't mean it's not true.

A Wednesday 🧵: The Premier League’s dominance is crippling lower-league clubs. Did you know that clubs in Leagues 1 & 2 receive just 4% of the total broadcast revenue? This imbalance is unsustainable. Tag your MP to demand fairer football governance! #FairGameUK

4 home games on the trot, of which Leeds is the third. A couple earlier in the season, including the derby. One we avoided when Derby was moved to Friday night. It had better be good when it’s finished!

Think they're being encouraged to shoot more from distance rather than walking it in as we've been trying to do most of the season. Paid dividends Tuesday night, though not today unfortunately. Two weeks to work on that.

For the first time in 14 games, Luton Town have won a football match
Perhaps the 2-0 defeat at Watford a week earlier was the boot up the backside that a struggling team needed. It's certainly come just in time for new manager Matt Bloomfield.

A season (or more) in L1 might do us good. Re-set our goals, reshape the team, build back to the Championship and a promotion push to the PL from Power Court. Won't be us raging against the world any more but in time we can be like a Brentford, punching above our weight amongst the big boys.

Thought not having the surgery was Mengi's own decision. Maybe not wanting to jeopardise a potential move by being out of action in the summer.

Channelling his inner Glen Rea - "there's a run coming, I'm sure of it". When we'd just lost 3-1 at Forest and were bottom, 7 points and a -27 goal difference from safety.

I saw Woodrow make his debut aged 16 at Welling in an FA Trophy replay back in 2010. Freezing cold night, just 76 (I think it was) Luton fans there. Has his detractors but he’s certainly proper Luton. Hatters Heritage link included for completeness! hattersheritage.co.uk/matches/well...

Feels like I've spent a lot of the last 10 years or so open-mouthed at what we've been achieving, and having a shit season's just bringing me down to earth a bit! I think the whole club's got post relegation PTSD right now, but I do reckon we won't go down.

Think the point is it's never predictable, so we get some incredible highs and then the lows to counterbalance them. We could just be like Preston and mooch around the second tier for seasons on end, but that's not us.
