I think we need to use the term ‘join’ the EU, not rejoin or restore. The EU has changed since the vote and the Tory decision to wrench us out and so has the UK. We should apply and keep the negotiation to a minimum and not, as former sceptics, expect special treatment.

If the government commit to negotiating to join the EU, they must be up front with the details of membership from day one and be louder than the disinformation. At the last referendum nothing was clear and disinformation cancelled out a weak attempt to argue for remaining.
