Because social media is the only place I can have meaningful social interaction with people on my wavelength, and I feel like my voice is spread too thin, trying to exist concurrently in multiple platforms at the same time.

I guess I just want one place I can have my friends, in a format that works for everyone (I honestly hate this style of social media, for example, trying to express myself in a paragraph or less), that won't get killed by greed.

Because of the actions of the people in charge. Zuckerberg, Musk, and the others who hold our digital lives (and the advertising dollars that our lives are worth) in their hands, and the increasing level of mismanagement, amplifying voices that are committed to spreading misinformation.

I guess my point in this is thinking about people migrating from one social media to another. People getting "comfortable" on one site over others, and connections between people fading as a result of people dropping one social media in favor of another.

I've been living in relative physical isolation for the past 17 years. Not by choice, mind you, it's just how my circumstances shook out. As a result, I've had to rely almost entirely on social media for social interaction almost as long as it has existed as a concept.

This has bothered me for a long time, but it REALLY bothers me now. Further in the conversation I had with my mother today, she told me that I just need to get used to being alone. I find it sad that my own mother has so little regard for me as a person as to suggest that I just accept that.

One of the biggest reasons I'm so lonely is because I can't go anywhere on my own. I have no individual autonomy to speak of. This makes it incredibly inconvenient for me to try and have any kind of lasting relationship with anyone.

Today my mother asked me why I posted it. I told her simply that I posted it because I wanted to. She's the cause of my loneliness, and she has absolutely no awareness of this. If she is aware, she just doesn't care.

So I'm hearing that Conservatives are mad about Liberals making fun of RFK Jr.'s speech impediment, and are asking for civility. Where was all of that the last 4 years, with Joe Biden's stutter? Hypocrisy, thy name is GOP. If you want the other side to take the high road, you've got to go first.

PSA: Just because I don't do something the way you would, doesn't mean that I'm doing it wrong. I'm physically disabled, not stupid. Sometimes I have to do things differently, because my hands don't work like everyone else's. I know I look like a moron when I do things weird, but that's my life.

I don't have a horse in The Tiktok race. I've never thought myself interesting enough for it, and I've never used it to watch the content of others. However, a ban like this sets a dangerous precedent. Social media apps represent freedom of speech, and limiting access to such tools, is bad.
