These actions have vastly enriched metropolitan nations at the expense of those lands, now nations, they exploited. War and poverty are common throughout the global south, driven at least in major part by their history as colonized peoples.

Capitalism is centuries old, and global in it's reach. The Metropolitan Empires of the 17th, 18th, and 19th Centuries buttressed their economies through extraction of resources from colonies and then selling goods to those colonies as captive markets. Or through the systematic enslavement.

Often times the death toll of the world's various Communist regime's are touted as evidence of the evils of Communism. The Big Black Book of Communism, now rejected as methodologically flawed, gives these deaths at around 100 million. Contemporary scholarship gives this number at 80 million.

So seeing the new Chaos Dragon on the table I have to say it is a good model. A Warhammer Fantasy model should communicate the gravity of the threat through it's sculpting so that even if you are unfamiliar with it's rules you get how dangerous it is. Mission accomplished. I felt very threatened.

Hot take, every single battle episode of Game of Thrones is silly. Spectacle over substance. They should have kept it like the first season where budget constraints had them cut away from the actual battle, this allowing the story to emphasize the lead up and characters prior.
