Not sure I see a different playbook operating here. Sounds like Carney talked nice to him in person/phonecall and Trump was sufficiently buttered up to say nice things about him the day after. As we saw after T’s WH meeting with Obama, the nice feelings/words barely lasted 24 hours.

On Saturday March 8 over thousand people jammed Katherine Clark’s town hall in Waltham, MA. Whip Clark and Mass. AG Andrea Campbell described their efforts to fight Trump’s overreach through the courts and through use of every tool at their command. Get loud, they said.
