Anyway. I did one door and now I'm taking a break. I feel like I should do another task/chore while I wait, but. That wouldn't really be all that restful. So I'm just going to chill for a bit. Get a bit of reading in

They were screwed in weirdly (part of the "being installed incorrectly" thing) so I had to go at it from a weird angle. Idk what it is about the previous owners (all of them, not just the sellers) but pretty much every screw in this place was done wrong. It's wild

And then screwing the other side of the hinge into the side of the cabinet was an ordeal. Had to remove the old ones (they're basically the same, but they weren't installed correctly so I didn't want to reuse them) which sucked bc none of my screwdrivers were exactly right, and!!

(like, I could push it halfway down easily, and then I had to inch it down by tapping it with a hammer, pressing down on it with all my weight and all the force I could muster, then hold it in place while I took a few breaths bc I was pushing so hard lol)

You have to push a lever sort of thing down to attach the hinge to the door, and I took like 5+ minutes to do just the one bc it was so stiff and I'm so weak lol. I had to use my body weight and a hammer and take breaks throughout

JFC changing the hinges on my cabinet doors (some have soft close and others don't so I'm making them all soft close) is way harder than I thought it would be. Changed the hinges on one door and I'm tired out. I need to do two more doors 😭

On one hand I'm like "well the fucked up lug nuts have been fine til now, they can hang on for a bit longer" but also. The tire place trying to remove them might have changed things. So I should follow their advice and drive as little as possible until I can get them fixed. Sighing

Found a place nearby that can fix the lug nuts! But not until Monday bc they close soon and aren't open on Sundays. So. I will not be driving much/at all this weekend if I can avoid it.

UGH two lug nuts on the one wheel are cross-threaded and won't come off. And trying to force them could break the studs they're on and then the car wouldn't be drivable. So! No tire rotation, and I need to go somewhere to get those fixed. Sighing so hard about it.

Okay my "car stuff" allowance for one paycheck would cover 1 or 2 tires (well. It could almost cover a full set of crappier tires lol but I'd rather get better tires that are bit more expensive). But I do put a bit aside each paycheck for car maintenance stuff so I could still afford it.

I *do* get 3 checks this month, so the money that I would normally put towards my car payment and insurance for that check could probably cover a set of tires. Idk how much tires cost lol

But idk. A full set of tires is kind of expensive lol. I would probably just go for some all-seasons this time around (since new ones are probs fine for winter) and then get winter tires for next winter? Idk. Not getting new tires today either way!

I was like "I feel like having older all-seasons contributed to my accident; I've wondered if winter tires would have done better. I might consider getting winter tires at some point" and he was like "winter tires *might* have helped, and if it would make you feel safer it's not a bad idea" lol

I also wonder if I could buy winter tires now, and keep these tires for next summer or smth? Might ask Dad for advice on it, tho he's usually like "winter tires aren't really necessary, decent all-seasons in good condition work just as well". But last time we talked tires he was less firm on that

I feel like anyone I ask will be like "it's probably fine, they just want to sell you smth" but w my last car I had suspected the tread might be getting a bit low, and then I ended up losing traction and spinning out and totalling the thing. So I'm maybe being a bit more cautious than most ppl?

But after that long it's not surprising to me that they are getting close to needing to be replaced. Not sure if I want to get them replaced right away or if I want to try getting thru winter with them?

Like these are the tires that came w the car, so it's been over 3 and a half years with them. And everyone was like "they'll at least last as long as the lease" which I was honestly sceptical of, but it seems to have held true.

Tire guy telling me I'll probably need to replace my tires soon and that it might be a bit risky for the winter. And I'm like. Yeah that's not a surprise lol

But!! Whatever!!! I need to stop procrastinating and go get ready. I can figure out what to do about my oil once I'm at the tire place or whatever. Kind of hoping they'll also air up my tires bc the temp change has set off my tire pressure warning and I keep forgetting to air them up lol

And $200 feels ridiculous for an oil change, esp when I'm pretty sure me and my dad could do it at the house and it would only cost as much as the oil and filter. But they also do other shit at the same time, and it's all in one place. Don't have to go 5 different places or whatever

Like. I can't remember what the maint cost bc the last time I did it was like a year ago (I'm very behind, I feel very guilty) and iirc that was one of the expensive "get everything done" ones so it wouldn't even be a good baseline. But I think the basic one was like $200??

And also!!! What if they're busy!! I'll have to go somewhere else or come back another day if they're too busy to do the thing!! Ugh!! It's enough to make me consider going back to the dealership even tho that was unnecessarily expensive

(it's not rude if it's what they want/expect you to do, obvs. But I am so unused to walk-in anything being acceptable outside of an emergency.)

I still need to figure out the oil change situation. I'm used to having to make an appointment but all the places w the best reviews or whatever are non-appointment. You just go there. Which freaks me out bc like. What do you mean. I can't just drop in unexpectedly, that's rude!!

Probably going to have an energy drink. Esp since I probably won't be able to come back home after and go to sleep. I have too many things I need to do. Most of which I can't remember at the moment lol. I do plan to go to IKEA after the tires are done but after that who knows

Need to get ready to go get my tires rotated and balanced.... I don't want to, I'm very tired. Stayed up quite late, and then woke up fully alert and everything at 8, and by 10:30 all that energy was gone. Been yawning nonstop for the past 15 minutes lol

I guess we're just really desperate for more tasks to queue up while the users are too busy to bother w software stuff lol. Even silly little easy bugs/improvements (that I normally don't consider worth mentioning to others) are welcome additions to the list.

Like. It's usually stuff that's small/unimportant, I just keep a note so that if I end up working on smth related to it I can fix those small things at the same time. I hadn't made them official work items bc they're tiny and I didn't know if I needed to format them a specific way

Genuinely, I got all my books out of the boxes and my brain was like "okay, unpacking is done :)" and the boxes and bags are already melting into the background so I haven't really cared all that much. But now that I have struggled to find two separate things in one week. I'm motivated again

I despise folding clothes so I looooove that I have a nice big closet where I can hang almost everything up :} Everything that can get put on a hanger WILL get put on a hanger, and everything else can get shoved in a drawer or whatever
