I gotta get back into designing some cool alien species I think I've only made like one explicitly for TWH

I come up with the best ideas for The Warping Hearts lore when Im talking with friends about it but I dont wanna spoil stuff for them because I want people to enjoy the twists and turns I come up with in real time as the webcomic comes out xP

If anyone wonders why I haven't started this, half of the reason is commissions, the other half is this xP I find worldbuilding super fun but holy fuck do I overdo it sometimes to the point of making no story or character progress....

Im the kind of worldbuilder that will come up with an idea, such as an asteroid belt that is inhabited, and then think way too much about it; Why is it habitable? Do asteroids often collide? What are they made of? What kind of lifeforms would adapt? Does this have ties into the magic system?

Still love this piece of concept art I did #razz.png #twh

Concept art of an asteroid city being illuminated by a black hole with a very bright accretion disk
There is a second smaller piece of the vastness of space with a central point where red, green, and blue beams of light shine from.

Sunk-cost fallacy is a bitch! If something isn't meshing right, sometimes entertaining the idea of a drastic rewrite can fix it! Entertaining new and bold ideas is I think how to write more cohesive stories and not holding onto things that hold you back

The Warping Hearts @twh.floral.lgbt · 15/03/2025

My original idea was that the main party was college students by day bounty hunters by night, but with my overall plans for them it just doesn't fit this theming at all and it reads a bit confused. Personally, I think I'm actually really excited for the opportunities this change brings!

I'm thinking I'm going to scrap a lot of my ideas for act 1 and change the entire setting! I think as I started developing my ideas for the world building I realized that what I had just did not mesh with it and it's hindered a lot of the vibes I am trying to portray

I want a big corkboard specifically so I can lay out the main story beats for my webcomic and put strings of yard between them so I can visualize the mystery Im trying to make #TWH

I want to be able to host the comic to my own website in a way thats easy to read I'd like it to be the best spot to read it in full since social media platforms keep misstepping TwT

Big development I realize I haven't talked about here, Im actually replacing Razz (the character lol 🦝) with a different character! Despite TWH's original purpose to give them lore, as the project's expanded jts felt weird af to have a character representing me as the protagonist :P #razz.txt #TWH

Setting my expectations that the style isnt going to be 100% what i want to start, over time with practice and dedication it'll get better and better though and I've just gotta not let my overly high expectations get the better of me Doesn't hurt for the story to have room to adapt also ^^

Plot for act 1 is loosely laid out! Going to start storyboarding this and once i get some more concept art hnder my belt to lock in the style I'll start putting together a backlog of pages to publish! :D I'm pretty busy for the rest of the year tho so we'll see how this goes #razz.txt #TWH

I dont think I'll ever finish the story if i dont start actually putting the pages into motion, i could probably continue to come up with ideas forever but nothing will come together without pushing that forward Just feels like Im not ready yet, so idk if i should push it for risk of burnout... xP

The Warping Hearts @twh.floral.lgbt · 13/10/2024

I feel like at a certain point I just gotta *start* working on actual pages I feel like the core of my procrastination is feeling like the story isnt ready yet (also damn thats a lot of stuff to draw :V), but I feel like it's maybe unrealistic to only start once the story is "final" #razz.txt 🧵

Its so hard to talk about the ideas i have for this comic/world to people because i dont want to spoil people who might be interested in reading it But i feel like i need to workshop ideas with someone so i can finish writing at least ONE act/chapter before moving onto art
