Neither claim is false, though. It's what it means, and people are constantly trying to make it mean "liking problematic things." But it's not what it means. And then again, the existence of bad actors who wrongly use a label doesn't negate what the label actually overwhelmingly stands for.

I say it because it's the factual definition. Yes, it's been watered down and people are trying to modify it, yes, there are bad actors who don't actually care Abt fandom etiquette. That's why a lot of people don't like the label or care for it, even when they'd qualify. But it largely remains that.
