1. 1 year 8 months 2. Got into j-rock/guitar and had trouble talking to people within the sphere, used a translator but still felt uncomfortable 3. Anki -> SRS, YomiNinja/LunaHook + Yomitan -> Games/VNs 4. Vocab (It never ends 😩) 5. Feeling of progress/understanding more of Japanese media & culture

rewatching 'A Place Further than the Universe' reminded me how much of a masterpiece it really is, everyone needs to at least give it a try 🥹

Thank you! I also think its healthy to have slow periods rather than forcing yourself and burning out (my addiction to hi3 lore lately has kinda put me into one too 😅) Good luck on your JP studies! 🙏

The screenshots are from a flashcard program called Anki that I use to create japanese flashcards from unknown words I encounter from anime/games/visual novels. It's the anchor to my learning routine (learning 10 new words a day) and has been really useful in making sure I don't slack off 😂

Just hit 1 year of learning Japanese! Learnt ~4000 new vocab It's been one of the most rewarding experience going from barely understanding anything to being able to consume native Japanese content. Still a long long way to go but the journey has been fun. 今年も、頑張りましょう～

I really like the jlab's beginner course if u don't mind using flashcards and setting it up! It takes screenshots with audio clips from anime and uses it to teach grammar/vocabulary and u can start from basically 0, its a fun way to get introduced to grammar and I wished I found this when I started
