This is just onenof those Lightning in a bottle moments where Toriyama’s original piece was so perfect that it could never be recaptured (The anime version is blatantly hilariously off lmao)

Introduce yourself with four movies

While I stand that Sonic post Genesis reboot lacks the drama and OOMPH of Flynns 160-247 run, his and Aleah Baker’s work on the story arc “Spark of Life” in Sonic Universe is as close to that run as the reboot gets, these two moments especially are fantastic and feel alive

Now that I have seen that interesting 1957 French version of Godzilla I now have a complete ranking list! Again!

I didn’t see much in 2024 in theatres but I hope I don’t see anything as bad as Godzilla X Kong this year

Mfw rereading all of dragon ball for the first time since 2013

110

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 24/11/2024

I love that Mr. Sayan calls him Goku now It feels so sweet and nice

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

Had Vegeta stayed dead, I would forgive this secondary tantrum bs because this moment is amazing, truly

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

Great moment but I also think this is a very rare case of Toriyama planning ahead Or i could be wrong but was purification and reincarnation of an evil soul established in the Saiyan arc or anything? I don’t recall so I’ll say this is Toriyama planning ahead for Buu

110

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

Everyone (rightfully) talks about Goku’s once in a lifetime reaction after blasting Freeza in the manga , but this face Vegeta makes is also a rare one never been recreated It’s both vulnerable and full of love And kinda weird lmao

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

I really am not a fan of this Vegeta crybaby bullshit that deals with him murdering innocent people Buuuuuuut it does lead to this bad ass moment with Goku putting his hand in front of Kaioshin

000

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 22/11/2024

This is so funny #18 wont have anything to do in the arc after this sadly but her moment in the Budokai is awesome and hilarious

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

A small but funny reminder that Chi-Chi is really strong I know it’s a gag moment but I sincerely believe she could lay this hag out cold in one small hit

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

Plus this moment is really great

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

I love that everyone gets a reaction panel for Goku, it’s such a great moment

420

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

Interesting that Gohan calls it Bukūjutsu because it hasn’t been called that since the very start of the Saiyan arc! Also, if we recall, it was a specific of the Crane School teaching by the Crane Master, but now everyone flies in Dragon Ball And yet….i like that the name comes back here

100

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

I love this reveal but i also find it hilarious and weird that #18 lives on that island with Roshi like how is he not dead yet 💀💀💀💀

000

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

One fun thing about Toriyama getting a more laid back editor as well as the fresh new arc is he returns to 4th wall gags (and this isn’t the last of them in this arc either)

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

Piccolo is the one true based ace representation in media

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

This goes hard and feels almost mythical

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 16/11/2024

The Cell arc still has its moments of brilliance: turns out the heroes *can* be stronger than Perfect Cell! But at the cost of any mobility whatsoever… It’s an ingenious moment

000

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 15/11/2024

Tenshinhan’s last stand against second form Cell is hard as fuck And Goku’s appearance before Cell is also really awesome It feels like there is way more connection here than Goku appearing before Freeza for the first time

111

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 15/11/2024

Forgot to post about this i think but i just love this moment It’s the one moment the manga that whole “im not using my whole power” actually feels full of weight

110

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 15/11/2024

Child’s Play 2 Taking the first films more grounded aesthetic and changing it to a more toyetic and fairy tale like one actually helps a lot The film is funnier, well shot and has an excellent score Andy and Kyle growing fond as siblings and Chucky at his peak visually cements this as the GOAT

010

turtle prick @turtleprick.bsky.social · 15/11/2024

The Empire Strikes Back still remains a seminal piece of pop culture blockbuster moviemaking because the big stuff is in the beginning while the rest is almost all character based. It also has the best lightsaber fight and Yoda’s speech about the force is perfection
