we all know this is just legally cooking books in order to save face - but one does wonder how bad is it that they have to keep fudging shit for so long? and when it falls apart. how big will the economic crater be?

i'm usually against the destruction of books.. HP is the notable exception but at least they can be recycled to make other books.

i think the galling thing is that this is from a *publisher* not direct from rowling. so anything done to those books won't hurt her in the slightest. that said i'm sure the arts department would love paper mache materials. and paper can be recycled at the very least.

here's a game to play: go out, get yourself some takeout doesn't matter what. then put together the same order in a delivery app (doordash, uber, etc) compare the prices. expensive, innit? you'd think they could afford to pay folks more for that price.
