I just wanted to post something, to let you all know I'm still here. Also, my art life has been very unproductive. I have a lot of ideas and a lot of things I have promised, and a lot of projects I hope to be able to work on, but the actual 'making of art' has been hard and slow.

Summer is here, and life has been full of everything. It's still hard to find energy to actually do the duties I'm supposed to. I often find myself just wanting to sit down and stare out of the window, endlesly. I wish I had the luxury to do nothing, but sadly that's not my part in here.

Interesting 🧵 about social media and interactions. FB, IG, X, TikTok, YT shorts etc want people to look and endlessly scroll. A user can see 100 posts but none of them are really important. It's why IG doesn't show you the people follow and it's all about "the algorithm" and not follows

It's frustrating as AI often seems to offer answer with high confidence - but with science there are a lot of aspects that are anything but obvious and black-and-white. I've received medical evaluations that are anything but certain and sometimes you just have to live with it & trust the specialists

Rather enjoying my rather recursive current process of painting directly over a printed out digital sketch/underpainting, then finishing the resulting piece digitally again. Digital work allows me to figure out a piece as I work on it, but it cannot match the texture and colour of real materials.

That's a super fun process of art! I often have it the other way: I sketch traditionally because my thought process is better that way, then I clean/crop/move around/figure out the details digitally and print it out to be colored. But your way seems so fun I want to try it too! And the end result ❤️❤️

That's lovely! I remember trying to print lines onto watercolour paper when I was younger, my issue mainly being the small paper size it allowed me. And sometimes paper, as I tried out which ones printer could handle. Nowadays I print the lines on regular papers and use light table. Slow but okay.

Yes! All the different mediums traditional art offers... it feels like magic, can affect so much, feel so different! It's a reason I've never fully migrated to digital art, even though I know I'm at a disadvantage sometimes staying like this. I'm happy to hear when others find joy in it too ❤️

Tonight I have lost my mother, after a sudden finding of a fierce and advanced, already incurable illness. I have no words. Simply the endless sadness, a knowledge that from now on, no-one will ever love me as deeply and dearly as she did. I feel alone and lost, but try to live on for my child ❤️
