What the National Weather Service calls a “limited power outage threat” is expected along the Seacoast, where steady northeast winds will contribute to minor coastal flooding at high tide, starting Friday night. A high surf advisory was issued: Large breaking waves of 7 to 12 feet are expected.

Following reports that a former power plant property could be used for a hyperscale data center in Bow, residents from the town and neighboring communities overwhelmingly spoke out against such a plan at a selectboard meeting Tuesday.

Members of the Pemi Valley Search and Rescue Team hiked over 4 miles to Franconia Ridge and then to Mount Lincoln, which has an elevation of 5,089 feet, where they located the four hikers at 1:15 a.m. Saturday.
