I think I'm just in a bit of a spin at the moment, it slows down and speeds up but overall it's slowing. I'll definitely keep this in mind though, thank you!

Intensity is a bit of a matter of taste. Although it may look good up close, it could be an eye burner from a distance

I've been making some masks for the RetroTINK 4K. I'm also hoping to modify them to be 6X-resolution compatible too. Here's a little preview. Watch in 4K! youtu.be/qjyX9WmBnkI

Thank you so much. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before but seeing how far your art skills have come since the SFGHQ days is so impressive!

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I feel weirdly close to a breakdown. The autism assessment, while being a weight off my shoulders, has left me with a lot of negative emotions. Just feel kind of lost, like an imposter (I've lived this long and "coped") and also feel so angry at the years I've lost.

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Thanks so much! This is all such a new process for me but one thing I'm learning about is energy conservation, masking only when I really need to etc. And thanks for your kind words about my music! I've got a lot of stuff I'd really love to finish off but I'm so low on concentration atm!

100

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I'm new to this too but I can say the relief outweighs the negatives, at least so far. I've found myself having mini, internal freakouts I'm public or at work and to finally know the reason is such a huge relief. I keep having flashbacks to weird shit I've done and it all makes sense.

010

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Thank you, that means a lot. I can't say it makes stuff like anxiety and depression magically go away but I've forgiven myself for a lot and I've stopped punishing myself for things outside my control.

If you're wondering if composite looks sufficiently shit on the SuperStation One... yes it does.

020

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

My whole life, I've thought "if I try a bit harder," or "if I just push myself more and change this about myself," I could be that person. But it's someone I could never, ever become. Not really.

020

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

Is it normal to feel extremely low after an autism diagnosis? I was initially feeling relieved at being able to label the thing that has made my life so difficult; but now I'm feeling a sense of, I guess, loss? Loss for the person I'd pushed myself, at my own expense, to be. He's gone now. Weird.

This kind of power and flexibility for such a low price is incredible. For many people who want to play/record/stream retro consoles, this really covers your needs.

It's a genuinely fun game and has some breath-taking scenery. Falls apart a bit towards the end but well worth a play and you can usually find it super cheap too. Can't forget the boss that fires babies out of her nipples either.

Just so you’re all aware, RoBKTA and I still haven’t been paid for composing music for Victory Heat Rally. The developer is now teasing a new project while still not paying their devs for their previous one and dodging payouts for two years. @playtonicgames.com @skydevilpalm.bsky.social

I've been using MiSTer for a good while now but it was a lot of fun to get the actual real deal system out again.

It's not as crazy a thing as it used to be but I still sometimes find myself amazed that this image is coming out of a roughly 30 year old PS1.

For some stupid reason, I beat Earthworm Jim on SNES and Mega Drive back to back over the last 2 nights. I really struggled with the SNES version's lower horizontal resolution and wanted to demonstrate how it can have an effect on difficulty!

030

This game aged mostly brilliantly. It's hard to describe how next-gen this felt at the time.

What I will say is that the RT4K is what I'd class as "endgame". Other than daft little QOL changes that would only affect like 6 people, the thing is pretty much perfect. Sometimes I get frustrated at how little I have to fight with it. Connecting Dreamcast over VGA also looks fantastic!

010

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

I think with all things retro videogame related, it's either a case of going cheap with emulation or diving into the money pit of OG hardware. Stuff like MiSTer definitely helps bridge the gap though. If what you've got works, nothing wrong with sticking with it!

110

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

I got a work bonus which timed very well with a UK batch! The 4KCE is also an excellent choice, depending on which features are important to you, you may not be missing out on much from the Pro.

110

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

I'm not a massive CRT enthusiast but I'm often surprised by how unintrusive the RT4K filters are. This is using the brand new Butterworth blur effect!

120

Andy Tunstall @tunnotron3000.bsky.social · 08/07/2026

This is MiSTer via DV1 into the RT4K btw, no analogness.

I recently picked up Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night for cheap and... is it me or is this game very middle of the road? Once I got over the Castlevania fan service, it didn't feel like much beyond a clone of Dawn of Sorrow/Order of Ecclesia.

When I was at uni, I went to bed at 6am and woke up around 11-12pm. I was absolutely miserable. Having a full time job turned me round to waking up at 7:30am and aiming to be in bed by midnight. I'm still miserable but not AS miserable!
