Dang. In my case I appealed, they rejected again without responding to the appeal. They just said I still had copycat meta data. I ended up resubmitting without Bluesky in the name and I'm waiting on the response.

One of the things that is really difficult when building on an open protocol is interoperability. It only takes one well intentioned fork to break the experience downstream for others.

I wonder if other prominent react native apps will go to native too if this proves viable. I enjoy using Compos Multiplatform but I often wonder if I should build the ios UI with Swift UI and just keep the database and other data stuff in kotlin.

True, though this solution feels more like a could rather than a should. Having non descriptive feed names that are still publicly visible isn't particularly great UX. It's not something I'd add first party support for, though users can absolutely implement it if they want.

A quick mid-week update to Heron lands some major performance improvements. Scrolling the timeline should now be smoother than ever. Like buttery smooth. Also, if you do a media only search and go to the gallery, the gallery now lets you vertically scroll your search results where you left off.

The issue was with my image loading. I have so many animations, that they are teeney tiny size changes during layout and I'd keep fetching new images with coil thrashing the memory cache. I needed to bucket the sizes.

I think the excerpt quoted is more about faster not always being better, as it can lead to features being poorly considered. I'm shipping less and writing more, and finding I have more bandwidth to really consider what I really want to do.

I'm pretty much here too. Turned gemini code assist for reviews and I'm back to writing most code by hand for my personal projects. I'm working at a more natural pace and my thoughts are clearer and better formed. Turns out for some things, it's more about the journey than the destination.

Organic engagement, Spotify gets to test the waters without the eng commitment of building their own social network. Spotify wrapped renders natively in bsky. One can hope at least. Idk, hoping permissioned data opens Pandora's box for content.
