It took a bit to get here, but I finally got this tapestry of Nagumo and Niikura! I've loved this art piece ever since I saw it online, so I'm very happy to have it depicted on my wall now too. 🥦 📷 #animeCITY #CITYtheAnimation

I first played Sonic 1 through the Xbox LIVE Arcade version!

I recently got in these noodle stopper figures of Nagumo, Niikura and Wako! They're very nice figures, and I love that they're based on artwork from the initial announcement of CITY the Animation! That also seems to be inspired by the cover for Volume 3 of CITY's manga. #animeCITY #CITYtheAnimation

Noodle stopper figures of Wako Izumi, Midori Nagumo and Niikura from "CITY THE ANIMATION" sit by the edge of a light blue desk. Wako and Niikura have their legs hanging off the edge, while Nagumo is sitting down cross-legged. All three of them look into the distance with their hands posed on their foreheads. Nagumo and Niikura have determined expressions on their faces, while Wako looks joyful with her mouth wide open.

Artwork of Wako Izumi, Midori Nagumo and Niikura from the announcement trailer for "CITY THE ANIMATION", posed in the exact same way as the noodle stoppers. In this case though, they are sitting upon mini upside-down buildings that are taking off like rockets.

Hey, there you are! You're just in time for Sonic 4! ... Huh? Episodes I & II? A movie? What are you talking about? C'mon, we gotta save Mario! #SonicTheHedgehog #SonicTheHedgehog4 #Sonic4

The same "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" bootleg cartridge from the previous image is now shown to be inserted into a North American SNES system, with a controller plugged in and the power on. Usually the North American SNES has tabs that prevent Super Famicom shaped cartridges from being inserted, but this bootleg cartridge actually has the proper grooves needed in the back to fit into the tabs.

The ending credits screen to the "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" bootleg on SNES. The same image of Sonic and Tails from the title screen is reused here, but in monochrome. Aside from these two screens, and the cartridge itself, Tails isn't actually featured in the game at all. Text can be seen on screen that reads:

"Now SONIC and MARIO are good friends forever..."

This refers to how Sonic rescues Mario, or rather multiple Marios, throughout the game in place of Speedy Gonzales rescuing other mice in the original game.

My Nendoroid of Nagumo arrived! She looks awesome. Love how Mimineko is included and the unique CITY base is very appreciated! #animeCITY #CITYtheAnimation

The Nendoroid of Midori Nagumo, her stand and Mimineko from the previous image are the same as before. But now in front of them are Nendoroids of Nano Shinonome, Hakase Shinonome and Mai Minakami from Nichijou. Nano can be seen sitting on her knees, smiling with a cake roll coming out of her right arm. In front of her is a table with a bowl and Japanese tea cup close by, and a mug with a Mogura bird on it on the other side. Hakase can be seen close to this mug, with her also sitting on her knees and happily holding a cake roll. A box sits close to the table, with Sakamoto sitting inside of it. A white stuffed animal, that is still a plastic figure, known as "The Grim Reaper's Insides" is also near this box. Mai can be seen behind Hakase, with her sitting at a desk holding a book open with her usual blank expression. She has a Maitreya statue sitting on the desk, and a blue bag sitting near the bottom of the desk.

GE may not have been the ones to do it, but Jakks absolutely did Tails Doll justice! So happy to see this finally become a reality. I love how the checkerboard pattern from one of his iconic artworks was used for the box, and you can even unzip the back of his head! #SonicTheHedgehog #TailsDoll

Jakks Pacific's Tails Doll plush lays face first on a blue blanket, where his back is visible. He has a working zipper on his head, where it is currently zipped shut. A zipper pattern goes down his back as well, but can't actually be unzipped that far.

I got this at the beginning of last month, but check out this Amy plush by Toy Network! The quality control of their plushes can be all over the place, so I'm glad to own this Amy that actually looks quite good! #SonicTheHedgehog #AmyRose

A plush of Amy Rose made by Toy Network lays on top of a blue blanket. She has a hang tag connected to her left hand, featuring artwork of her from "Sonic Adventure" and the name "AMY / AMY ROSE" placed onto it.

I am now an official member of the Nichijou Volume 12 gang! ✌😎 #Nichijou

The cover of "Nichijou - Volume 12" is shown on a zoom up of a blue desk. Hakase is seen wearing a blue mailman hat and red mailbag, while holding a candle holder with her right hand and a plush of a white creature under her left arm. Sakamoto sits on top of her mailbag, wearing a bamboo hat and white mustache. Underneath them are shadows resembling various creatures.

It's been a while since I've tried making Miis, but the lack of CITY ones tempted me to make my own! Here's Nagumo, Niikura, Wako, Tsurubishi, Matsuri and Ecchan! Scan the QR codes on your 3DS or Wii U and they're yours! An amiibo can put them on Switch 1 & 2! #animeCITY #CITYtheAnimation #アニメCITY

Miis of Midori Nagumo, Niikura and Wako Izumi from CITY are shown with their respective QR codes underneath.

There's also this piece from a South Korean magazine which further adds to the confusion. The title of Mean Bean in Korea is "Operation Dongguri Eradication (Puyo Puyo)," not just in this page but in general. This magazine straight up uses Puyo in the 2nd screenshot and has Puyo character artwork.

A section from a South Korean magazine, covering "Operation Dongguri Eradication (Puyo Puyo)," the South Korean name for Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. To the left are three screenshots of the game, with the second one in the middle being of note. It has a background never seen in Mean Bean, only in Puyo Puyo. The other screenshots above and below are standard for Mean Bean. To the right and taking a majority of the image is... artwork of Arle Nadja with Puyos, Carbuncle, Harpy, and Schezo Wegey. Aside from the Puyos and Carbuncle, who is called Has Bean in Mean Bean, none of these characters show up in Mean Bean and are purely Puyo Puyo characters.

The back of the cartridge also shows this, as the molded SEGA logo is still there. Super Aladdin Boy cartridges usually have either no molded logos at all on the back or have a Samsung logo instead. Also a white stripe underneath the label is visible to the right, which is from JP cartridges.

Early copies of Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine in South Korea were VERY literal reskins of Puyo Puyo. Like, taking pre-existing JP Puyo cartridges and slapping a Korean Mean Bean label on them kind of literal. No one seems to know why this was ever the case either.

A South Korean "Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine" cartridge for the "Samsung Super Aladdin Boy," the Korean version of the SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis. It primarily shows Robotnik himself on the left, with Coconuts and Grounder also to the right but Grounder is cut-off halfway. Looking closely where this cut-off happens, we can see some kind of artwork underneath that doesn't match the Mean Bean artwork.

A Japanese "Puyo Puyo" cartridge for the "SEGA Mega Drive." Arle Nadja can be seen front and center, with Carbuncle appearing over her right shoulder. Puyos can also be seen to the left and right. Notice how the right side of the artwork with Arle's flowing hair and some Puyos matches up with what was underneath the South Korean Mean Bean cartridge art.

I got monke! 🐵 This came out last year, but I managed to run into one! Glad AiAi has another figure for the first time in like, two decades haha. #SuperMonkeyBall

The AiAi figure out of the package, holding his banana, now connected to his stand while inside the ball once it's closed together.

Speaking of things I've done recently, although I'm sure some could put 2 and 2 together, I finally read all of Keiichi Arawi's CITY! I've been meaning to do so for a while now, but wanted to make sure I had the proper time to dedicate to it. It was fantastic and I cannot wait for the anime in July!

Behold: Mai Minakami eating a sandwich. Also I don't know how likely it'll be, but I hope Keiichi Arawi ends up making a Bluesky account at some point.

Mai Minakami from Nichijou sits on a floating seat at a floating desk. She's in her pajamas eating a lettuce and tomato sandwich with a plate, glass of milk, two bottles and her glasses laying on the desk. There's also a flower in a vase connected to the side of the desk. A flower with no stem floats in the plain white background, with five birds flying past it. Below Mai are six more birds, flying near a miniature green pasture with a branch extending out of the terrain and into a pool of water.
