Gonna make a separate thread for all the research material used for drawtober this year. Day one is based on this awesome snake priestess figurine from Crete world4.eu/minoan-snake...

The Snake Goddess from Knossos. Priestess in Minoan Crete 2000 B.C.

Priestess of Snake Goddess, Knossos 2000 B.C. The Palace of Minos. Regarded as characteristic of feminine fashion in Minoan Crete.

Drawtober begins! 🤩This year I am choosing to use this as an excuse to do historical clothing research and for the inspiration I am using the #sarjakuu26 prompts from @sarjakuvaseura.bsky.social. Today’s prompt was ”kiemurteleva” = ”slithering/winding” 🐍

Y'all have no idea how excited I am to celebrate this!! It's the same month as my own birthday and guess which one I'm looking forward to more 😂 This book, my amazing collaborators, and all the wonderful readers sharing their thoughts, art, and excitement for it have brought me so much joy.

Some booktubers, even some booktubers i like do the thing where in the middle of a review they will just have a few minute montage of themselves reading in aesthetic ways and I am here to ask…. Why? Who is this for? I legitimately cannot imagine watching these compilations at all they feel so fake

Went to Ikea yesterday for the first time in ages and i found it legitimately very hard to keep reminding myself that buying new sheets when you have holes in all of your old ones is not frivolous but in fact sensible and exactly the kind of thing savings should be spent on. But ahhhh!!

Pakko myöntää että Ylellä tänään ilmestynyt Teemu Laaksosen essee maskuliinisuuden kuvauksesta pop-kulttuurissa hämmentää. Erityisesti siinä hämmentää Richard Gaddin luoman Half Man-TV sarjaan kohdistuva naljailu, ja sen väittäminen ettei positiivista mieshahmoja muka missään kuvata.

This goes for indie publishers as well! Buy books Write reviews (or even just star ratings) Tell people about the stories you've loved or are excited for* *online & in person! Request them through your library Ask your local bookshops to order them Word of mouth makes a huge difference for us.
