Cena heel run remains fuckin WEIRD, man. Maybe I'm too in my own feelings about John, but it just feels like such a slap in the face to his own 20 years of Babyface work to have his turn be "you people booed me and I'm mad about it!".

It's been a sec, I've still been watching 77 All Japan here and there. Ric Flair at this time is shocking. Not yet the dastardly technician he'd be in the 80s, Flair is a big bruiser and tbh, it doesn't work. The Gaijin remain a pretty disappointing part of All Japan, past the Destroyer. #Wrestlesky

Went back to look at that older 73-77 stuff and nothing really grabbed me so we're back in 1978 continuing the Champion's Carnival. Enjoy a peak at 1978 actual baby Ted DiBiase.

Found another source with matches from earlier than 78. Watched Destroyer/Baba from 72 and was memorized for the first fall. Destroyer is very vocal and the constant switching of his chin lock to hide the fact that he's choking Baba is fantastic. Unfortunate the last two falls don't hold up.
