Glad I was able to pick up this history book (and meet the author) at the Arts and Eats festival in North Tonawanda, NY. Rick has written extensively about Buffalo's history! #booksky #musicsky #buffalo #wny

Gonna try to capture my childhood amp with NAM so I can retire it when I move! (It's broken and doesn't sound particularly good generally, but the Snakebyte's het set pickups rip with it, ngl) #guitarsky #neuralampmodeler #guitaramps

In this ad for a digital guitar effects course, Brian Wampler misses the whole point of investing in rolling your own digital gear IMO. If you want total control of your sound, prompts alone can't get you there. That's what the ad actually shows. You never needed coding experience to start coding!
A sponsored social media post by Brian Wampler promoting a beginner’s course on digital guitar effects. The text at the top reads: “You already build analog pedals. Now build digital! Delays, reverbs, pitch shifters, anything your mind can think of, you can create way easier and faster than you ever imagined. Sascha Suhr's Complete Beginner's Guide to Digital Guitar Effects is 30% off right now with code DIGI30OFF. 30-day money-back guarantee. No coding background required!”
Below is a split image.

Left side headline: “What you think digital pedal building requires:” followed by a full screenshot of C++ code for a Daisy Seed DSP project:

#include <daisy_seed.h>
using namespace daisy;
DaisySeed hw;

#include "dsp/delayline.h"
#include "dsp/tremolo.h"

DelayLine<float, 48000 * 1> delay_buffer;
Tremolo wow;
Tremolo flutter;

float wow_amount = 0.001f;
float flutter_amount = 0.0005f;
float feedback_amount = 0.4f;

void AudioCallback(AudioHandle::InputBuffer in, AudioHandle::OutputBuffer out, size_t size)
{
    for (size_t i = 0; i < size; i++)
    {
        float input = in[0][i];
        float wet = 0.0f;
        float dry = input;

        wow.Process(wow_amount);
        flutter.Process(flutter_amount);

        float current_delay = 48000.0f * 0.5f; // 500ms base
        current_delay += wow.GetFrequency() * 100.0f + flutter.GetFrequency();

        delay_buffer.SetDelay(current_delay);
        wet = delay_buffer.Read();

        float feedback = wet * feedback_amount;
        delay_buffer.Write(input + feedback);

        out[0][i] = dry * 0.5f + wet * 0.5f;
        out[1][i] = dry * 0.5f + wet * 0.5f;
    }
}

int main(void)
{
    hw.Init();
    hw.SetAudioBlockSize(4);
    hw.SetAudioSampleRate(SaiHandle::Config::SampleRate::SAI_48KHZ);

    delay_buffer.Init();
    wow.Init(48000);
    flutter.Init(48000);

    wow.SetFreq(1.5f);
    flutter.SetFreq(12.0f);

Y'all got a favorite tube screamer? I think it's cool how this TS clone from Warm Audio lets you switch between different circuits. Seems like active vs passive pickups change how much it matters though (to my ears) #GuitarEffects

You can play guitar (and bass) through my website now! Using a (lightly) custom version of T3K's open-source NAM player! Rigged it up so I can do "playable articles" where there will be associated amp models and/or IRs to connect it to your own playing instantly tubesandcode.studio/play-guitar-...

Boss DD-8 I ordered finally came in today! I definitely like it a lot already! Got the board rearranged for that and a mini rat clone #guitarEffects #pedalboard

I am glad I bought a cheap modeling amp and captured my rig b/c I get stuck writing stuff for my site or coding until late at night a lot. I still want to take some breaks and rip some Metallica riffs, but I can't crank the real Marshall! I also loaded an MT-100 model on there for a lead preset

Here's my battle jacket. I started it about a year ago. Haven't been working on it as much lately because I've been playing more guitar, and working on various projects. #battlejacket #metal #thrash #melodeath

I'm in New Hampshire, USA. There's a small pedal company near me called Deciduous Devices that makes really cool stuff. I'm really happy with my compressor and overdrives... gonna use these to do full-rig and preamp captures with various levels of dirt/boost baked in

That's what I use for home recording actually! Haven't used it for any sort of live application, but I think it's kind of standard there. I like that I can just hang it like this and not worry about distance as a variable. So I'm gonna try this mic and the sm58 for capturing my rig

It's actually kind of funny how small this thing is, even compared to the Pedaltrain nano pedalboard I'm using for bass! Anyone have any suggestions for bass amps NAM rig captures I should try on this Pocket Master? Got room to try a couple, but I'm still new to bass #bass

Been doing some reading on about what researchers have said about the effectiveness of protest music against authoritarianism. Found a gem of an article about music videos in the June 2013 protests in Turkey, but I'm still not sure what this graph is trying to say about a guitar riff!
A "Guitar riff" graph in an article showing "Notes on Scale" positively correlating with "Melody." The following text is visible on the page: During this riff, a distorted guitar is upfront in the hierarchy of sound. This is unlike the rest of the song where the traditional Karadeniz fiddle is foregrounded. Distorted guitar sounds are associated with heavy metal, a genre with its own connotations of danger and menace. Together, melody, tempo and instrumentation connote danger and menace while visuals and lyrics make clear its source is the government and police.

Chaos is also connoted in musical sounds further articulating a dangerous elite, but also the fun and power of a protesting people. This is notable in melodic, tempo and instrument choices made in the instrumental bridges played between verses and choruses. Graph two represents the first half of the bridge, the second following a similar pattern. Notes are no longer constrained as seen in the opening

The modern guitarist dilemma? #guitar #amp #speakers #musiciansky
2 buttons meme. on 1 side, buying cabinets is pointless because you can use IRs (impulse responses). On the other side, "Cabs are high ROI because you can make IRs."

So should the Boss EQ-200 be banned? The primary UI is still physical but the whole premise of it requires a screen to show you the actual applied EQ settings when using memory presets. I don't want screens on compressors or overdrives, but I also don't want to keep EQ settings in my head
Boss EQ-200 pedal. There are sliders for various frequency bands, and below it, a screen indicates the actual current settings (which can be from a preset and not the actual physical slider values)

Oooh that must've been a great show! I saw them a few times and agree with you about his playing. Always fun with the improvisation. This plugin from Neural DSP seems very much designed to get that stereo sound; the killer feature is letting you run 3 of John's amps in parallel.
