Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 29/10/2025I must admit I struggle to answer. Scout just works so I forget it. Perhaps it is an answer indeed 😀 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 27/10/2025I’ve installed the extension, but I never use it. Herd just works :) Perhaps if there was an “Update PHP” command, I could use it. 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 23/10/2025There are numerous ways to say NO. Some are acceptable for the whom you say it; some are not. I prefer some variations like “no but.” To give a chance to make it differently or with another person than me. I don’t like letting someone in with a final NO and without an alternative. 010
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 21/10/2025We disabled IPv6 in the network interface configuration and host kept up and running since then (more than two years). There is still a mystery: why does this work a boot and not later? 000
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 21/10/2025Investigations led to a tricky network configuration issue. We had disabled IPv6 at the kernel level (compliance requirements) but the main interface was configured to use IPv6 and DHCP. Each time the networking stack tries to renew the DHCP lease, it crashed, letting the host without any network. 100
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 21/10/2025We had a small yet crucial service with 3 web hosts. All the three became down at the same time. No HTTP, no SSH 😱 No provider incident, all other hosts are up 🤨 Reboot, everything up again and stable 🙃 On call decided it was the fix. But about 24h later, it happened again 🤯 #AdrenalineOps 100
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 16/10/2025We should have someone to report this to. It’s dangerous to write those things. 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 09/10/2025Now you had to implement those APIs, as this article will feed others LLM and they will become a de facto standard 😆🙃 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 07/10/2025Neat! We have a homemade one in my current company we will be happy to replace if yours is merged 😀 Why not `domainIn` and `domainNotIn` as it accepts a domain list? 120
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 24/09/2025Is this little caps pop up a Raycast thing? I always thought it was MacOS’s 🤯 I love Raycast even more now 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 15/09/2025I used XZing earlier, but the base library looks unmaintained. github.com/zxing/zxing/...github.com 100
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 10/09/2025Disruption is often in 3 phases. 1. Getting started; people find it ridiculous 2. Getting traction; people find it scary 3. Getting generalized; people find it normal. It is not limited to tech; think about feminism, women voting right, or segregation abolition. 000
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 10/09/2025I used the product in 2022, if memory serves. The design is great, and the product is very nice too. It’ll be my first choice if I’m asked to choose one 010
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 08/09/2025It’s common in my experience for brand new uncommon domains with a form somewhere. In a previous activity, we launched plenty of micro websites with one form for promotional offers. They were sometimes blocked. Just explain what’s the purpose of your site and it should be good. 010
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 05/09/2025Add a DNS blocker on your network (piHole or Piolle for people living in the Alps) and the “I don’t care about cookies” extension and you are go to go. 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 05/09/2025Shower thoughts is to the thought what SVG is to bitmap images 010
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 05/09/2025I hope that the history about Atlassian’s CEO is true and this buying is because he loves Arc and wants it to stay the same. If this is true, I think he will just pay and not interfere, neither trying to merge it into Atlassian. Just a big sponsorship from one who can afford it. 🤞🤞 010
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 05/09/2025match is a great feature, as far as I know, that only PHP has. Pretty happy with it 220
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 18/08/2025This week I let Laravel Nova a second chance to seduce me. I’m a convinced Filament adept so it’s a tedious task 😅 But as it’s a client’s choice… 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 01/08/2025I prefer a CI rule that removes the down method with Rector, for example. Having something in the code base implies using it one day or another, even if you know you shouldn’t :) So better remove it. 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 01/08/2025I’m joining the dev-only-down-migration team. When iterating, it’s easier to migrate down then up after changing the original file. But I agree with Freek on everything in the context of prod/staging/sandbox. Same goes for reverting a commit, by the way. 000
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 30/07/2025Excellent read, but be prepared to receive more and more questions when you ’ll master this art. People will really love to ask you questions because you really solve their problems. 100

Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 06/07/2025Good Sunday read and a good opportunity to thank @driesvints.com again for his amazing work on the billing packages 🫶 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 29/06/2025I was playing with Suno with some colleagues last week, and we made some hard rock lullabies after a prompt misunderstanding by Suno. Perhaps we should try with heavy metal? 😅😭 Here is “Petit escargot” I know you’ll love it 😅 suno.com/s/PgW7NxZZGI...suno.com 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 06/06/2025Yes, but I should have thought about it when creating tests (or I stumbled upon them in production 😬) 010
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 04/06/2025Do you offer dual-nationality? I can’t choose between the nunonation and the @spatie.be nation citizenship 😅 000
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 04/06/2025Typescript allowed me to catch bugs early, mainly related to null values. I’ve added a lots of conditions for some edge cases thanks to it. 120
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 13/05/2025Thanks! I understood in 15 minutes, sometimes that I struggled with for 15 years. You’re an incredible teacher and your site is a goldmine 141
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 08/05/2025Congrats! I haven’t had an opportunity yet to try preliminary versions, but I definitely will try beta ones. It looks very promising! 010
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 07/05/2025Yes, it’s one of the advantages, but what I love overall is I can centralize almost any IOT brands under one app, to control them, automate things, create links between them… One app to rule them all :) 110
Nicolas Perraut @tuarrep.dev · 07/05/2025Have you tried Home Assistant? I have a pretty good setup right now, and I can control almost everything from anything independently of the brand. I hosted it on an old raspberry pi in my closet. 110
