Upgraded to staggered 18” wheels off a 2nd Gen IS350 so I can fit IS300 calipers. The Royal Saloon and other Crowns with 15” wheels have smaller brakes. Swapping in IS300 calipers makes future pad changes easier to get in the US, plus pads/rotors/calipers are cheaper than new rotors from Japan.

Added an OEM-looking backup camera that uses part of the license plate light. It’s made for the 100 series Land Cruiser but I made it fit with a little trimming to the filler panel.

Recreated the taillight lenses on the Carry and 3D printed on PETG translucent. The turn signal has LED bulbs but the brake light is a regular halogen bulb, have red and amber LEDs on the way.

Qualcomm has a little SD display at Costco now, but it’s away from the regular Intel / Mac / Windows laptop displays. There’s still an SDX Surface on the regular Windows laptop display, so this is complimentary and to educate buyers on SDX

Put my Panasonic CQ-VX5500 in the Crown where its classiness compliments the car. Also added a BT receiver on the aux input so I can have Bluetooth, in addition to MD and CD.

Was feeling naked without my roofbox. Finally found a set of Thule Aeroblade Edge crossbars on marketplace that were practically new for $160, much cheaper than the $500+ they are new. Toyota OEM accessory bars were simply Thule square bars.

Been driving my beater, a 2008 X3, for two days. It’s not terrible, but I have found a few annoyances - like the drive tunnel is too wide so the pedals are in an awkward position for me, and most importantly, the GM 6L transmission is absolute garbage and really holds back the N52.

Didn’t think I’d ever do it, I started the week contemplating selling the 540d, ended the week with someone buying it immediately. It was a bittersweet goodbye, but it’s going to a good home. So many good memories of family roadtrips in it over the last 3 years.

I rarely did anything with the CPU side of things at Intel, but these were the two times I did. These shirts were made for the Insider’s Community for Lunar Lake and Arrow Lake. I’m happy they came out nicely, even if I’m not there to distribute them anymore.

I really loved my Dell XPS 13 with Skylake when I bought it in 2015, so I figured I'd upgrade to the Meteor Lake version when I left Intel. I absolutely hate this thing. The keyboard doesn't feel right and the invisible trackpad is the worse I've ever used in a modern laptop. WTH Dell!?!?!
