About 95% done writing the text of my RPG, and just extracted and proofread all the text written so far. I’ve written over 30,100 words. This game is definitely half visual novel at this point. 😅 (Not all the text will appear in any single playthrough.)

I’m having to keep verifying spellings and meanings of words as I’m writing the text in the RPG I’m creating. I wonder whether I should make a glossary with all the vocabulary as a bonus released with the game. (49% joking)

Hot take: Mobile game ads should not require more than three clicks to close if watching the ad gives you some sort of reward, and no more than two clicks to close if it’s an interstitial ad (e.g., between levels).

Just a little disturbed… I used IMDb to access information about a movie I had watched. Just now, two hours later, I get an email titled “Welcome to IMDb”. Turns out, per the email, I was automatically logged into IMDb using my Amazon account without my approval. Gawds, I hate rampant capitalism. 💢

Three T-shirts from my Redbubble shop arrived! They’re all in the “you need to lose 5 pounds“ fit, but I need to lose 10+ pounds, so that’s understandable. (I should have gone one size larger.) Quality is good, much better than the print-an-iron-on-sheet method. www.redbubble.com/people/Tsuki...

Dev A: “No one will ever play our game beyond level 500, so don’t bother putting too much effort into generating new levels beyond that.” Dev B: “And even with the few freaks that do play that far, we’ve already gotten hundreds of ad views out of them, so who cares?”

Levels 580, 586, 590 and 618 of the game (well, it’s more of an activity) Jewel Coloring, each depicting the same variety of tropical leaf in the same orientation on a background of four squares of alternating paired colors, with a 5x4 pixel heart in each corner.

Don’t worry, I only played in airplane mode, so they didn’t get any ad profits from me.

Also there probably aren’t even two devs to have this hypothetical conversation; I’ve got a sickening feeling that this may have been created by one person using a tool to generate levels with no artist involved.

As someone who often buys DVDs at thrift stores, I'm usually pretty good at avoiding these, but I slipped up. If a DVD says "This film edited for family viewing", you're not getting the original movie as intended by its creators; you're getting a nerfed version edited to be inoffensive for kids.

Made a cheesy zucchini casserole from the big zucchini I bought at the farmers' market. It's not perfect, but it's definitely sustenance-providing. See alt text for ingredients and comments.

4 cups cubed zucchini, large chopped onion, 2 eggs, 8 slices cubed bread, 16 ounces cheddar, 1/2 cup butter, celery salt, garlic powder, other seasonings.

The egg added nothing but little bits of egg hiding throughout the dish; I could have done without, especially since the cheese held everything together. I wish I had toasted the bread and maybe browned the onions. I also wish I'd mixed all ingredients except cheese thoroughly in a huge bowl instead of trying to mix it in the dish.

With a pound of cheese and a full stick of butter, this recipe isn't even pretending to be healthy.

It had a couple false starts (wrong ingredients purchased, then had to wait for the heat wave to pass), and it's far from canon... but I tried to make bakso this morning. I have no idea if it tastes like real bakso, but it tastes lovely. Ingredients I used are in alt text.

Chicken broth, chicken bouillon, meatballs, rice noodles, mustard greens, green onions, celery, MSG, sambal, sazonador total (a seasoning mix with onion, garlic, MSG, salt, parsley, cumin and oregano).

I used about five different recipes and selected ingredients that were common to most or all of them.

What motivates you to work on a project when you can’t quite find your motivation? Caffeine doesn’t seem to be enough to power me through working on my current project. I tried a shot of brandy recently and it seemed to unlock my limiters, but I can’t rely on alcohol on a regular basis. [1/2]

Can’t sleep, so I‘m archiving some ancient CD-Rs. Finding things like 400x300 photos and 16-second-long 160x120 videos. Feels like looking at caveman relics. Surprised these discs are still readable, and I imagine someday they won’t be. Will I do the same thing 20 years from now with current files?

The six-year anniversary of my first Twitch stream will be Saturday, 11 July. I’m not sure whether to do anything special. (I can’t pull off a 24-hour endurance stream anymore.) Does it even count, since I took an 11-month hiatus? Do I drag out the old clip compilations, since so much has changed? 🤔
