The upgrade was comparing my existing 1817+ with an Atom prof to the 923+ with the AMD proc. I did 32gb ram, no nvme yet. Prob nvme for storage instead of cache if I do.

You can actually install Veeam backup and Replication on Windows 10/11 - not required to be a server OS. Helpful for homelabs!

😂 I’m on 7 now. Last used iSCSI when I was on 6.7. NFS has been solid for me. Have a new cluster that I’m going 8 on with vSAN ESA with some Optanes.

I noticed on iSCSI it seemed to stop after long periods of uptime and host reboots would correct it (6.7). For NFS and VAAI here’s the link for the drivers for 6.7 and 7. Works well! www.synology.com/en-us/releas...

You do NFS or iSCSI? I’ve found NFS to be more performant and iSCSI randomly stops using vaai

Spot is a good pod, I mean dog. 😂

I’ve been adding the tech community to my follow list - take a look at it. Otherwise I’ve been searching for “VMware” “vexpert” etc in peoples bio.

Had to do a selfie with the Veeam dog!

PSA - you can change your handle to your custom domain instead on having the @bsky.social after a name.

Checkout my custom feed for BlueSky to find any posts relating to Veeam. Veeam - Bluesky (bsky.app)

My favorite concept on BlueSky. It just makes sense and now I don’t have to worry that someone has my name already

Tim Smith @tsmith.co · 05/07/2023

Jim! Welcome aboard. Time to setup your handle as a custom domain instead!

I’m seeing a lot more of the virtualization community show up here every day!

Tim Smith @tsmith.co · 02/07/2023

How long should one keep a vExpert polo around? Especially if not work in the last 9 years…

Tim Smith @tsmith.co · 01/07/2023

Ugh - I keep seeing 3D printing come up and it reminds me I don’t have one. But then, what would I print? Or, what couldn’t I print?? Have a recommendation for a starter printer?

Oof! Was this in a box with another outlet? I’ve seen this when an installed uses the push in connectors on the back but doesn’t screw in the side terminals. Outlets side by side with those screws still out get pretty close!

Tim Smith @tsmith.co · 17/06/2023

Slowly building my following list of virtualization people from Twitter. Veeam, VMware, vExpert, Vmug, etc. it’s always good when those terms are in the profile for easy searching.
