I've wished I had an IR camera to debug circuits. Two months ago I got one. Today is the first time it helped me out. The USB-A on my laptop have 300mV on them, not 5v. I was expecting a shorted capacitor or a bad diode or something. But I found this part […] [Original post on leds.social]

I've done my smallest hand soldering yet to test a new I2S microphone now that the popular ones are EOL. Probing with a multimeter and it seems there are no shorts. I don't think I'll get to fully testing it tonight. I need to add a 1.8V LDO and level shifter.

Today, I used the new iron for some heat inserts into PLA, which went smoothly. Fortunately it goes down to 200C (I used it at 220C). (Though another bonus for the HS-02 & TS101 over the T90b is that they go lower still to 100C & 50C.) Then after the PLA […] [Original post on leds.social]

So far, I really like the T90b. It heats much faster than my Hakko FX-888D. My main reasoning for the T90b, is that some people have power negotiation problems with the HS-02, and like the HS-02, it has a cap, so I can safely cover it. It also has a motion sensor to auto-sleep. I really don't […]

@ct depends on consumer perception. I was more reluctant to buy things with lettuce. Even if I know most lettuce is fine, I'm not sure which isn't. From my data point of one, demand was down. So if supply drops, but demand drops more, it still works out as lowered price.
