Trump’s latest invention is an “Energy Truce” between Russia and Ukraine. Zelensky has no knowledge of it, and Putin can’t even be bothered to comment. In fact, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian facilities in Kharkiv after Trump’s fantasy. Has he crossed the line of lucidity?

-“It’s time for Ukraine to get a new president,” Trump announced. - Isn’t it time for the United States to get a new president? Putin has agreed to sell 300,000 metric tons of diesel. What a help! Who drove oil prices to these unsustainable levels? The Ukraine of Zelensky or the Iran of Trump?

With the elections just over a month away, Trump is going to be forced to confront a political catastrophe. He is achieving the impossible: losing Congress, House and Senate, facing a wave of democratic socialists, and losing all room for maneuver to pursue his lunatic ideas. Well done! Finally!

There is one completely effective way to put an end to CNN, MSNBC, and Politico being expelled from the White House. All the other accredited journalists would simply have to stop showing up for any of Trump’s briefings. He expelled the journalists? Then expel him. Swift and safe.

Putin’s (?) party won the elections in Russia. Astonishing. What a stunning turnaround. No one ever thought it could pull it off. The daily polls had the party with no members. No numbers. We must congratulate the president of Russia. Another resounding victory! Truly worthy of respect!

Now he has decided to turn Washington’s “Arc de Triomphe” into a military base: snipers, drones, ammunition. A war scenario. A childish fantasy of power. That mind of his has no filters anymore. No brakes. Not even the slightest sense of decorum or common sense. No, Trump is really not well!

The “hysteria” around AI has two poles that feed off each other. Excessive enthusiasm and alarm. Both sides exaggerate. Those promising total revolution want more funding; those predicting catastrophe need regulatory urgency or audience. Wasn’t this the same debate we had when the Net arrived?

Buying votes is something that happens only in dictatorships and autocracies, and even there they don’t spend that much money. Will anyone put the brakes on this imperial idea? To get to this point, you have to understand that Republicans are fully aware that they are going to lose Congress.

Trump has pushed democracy to the limit: he wants to buy the votes for November. Five thousand per head. It doesn’t matter where the money comes from. All that matters is how they are going to vote. If this happens, then American democracy is in serious crisis.

The “Circle of Fire” that the mainstream parties are building around the extremist AfD is only fueling a radicalism that reeks of the early 1930s in Germany. Building a cordon sanitaire out of a patchwork of parties that poll below 10% is like building a dam with porous, fragile concrete. See Saxony

luis delgado @trueluisdelgado.bsky.social · 06/09/2026
The AfD is not German Trumpism. If only it were. It is much worse than that and is on the verge of illegality. It is a party inspired by the catastrophic doctrines of Nazism, intent on once again making Germany the greatest of all European powers, both economically and militarily.

Trump is two months away from the midterm elections, in which he should lose his majority in Congress, turning him into a target to be brought down. And yet his great concern seems to be changing the name of Lake Ontario, as if an executive order could alter a name recognized around the world.

How can one not be disturbed to learn that some of the golden appliqués in the Oval Office were glued on by the President himself, using “super glue,” and that tariffs were decided on a whim or out of personal dislike for one country or another?

It is disconcerting to read «Regime Change», the book by two New York Times journalists, Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan. More than that: it is disturbing, disorienting and deeply unsettling. «The Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump» is about the lack of preparation and the utter confusion at WH.

...Could it be because he has no Hormuz? Is he feeling unwell? Has he lost his nerve? Has he already foreseen the disaster coming in November? Does he have no missiles? Is it because of the Ballroom? Something is definitely going on. A quiet and silent Trump is not Trump. He is a mute puppet.

Gone. Silent. Invisible. What happened to Donald Trump? Ten days without a word, even a made-up one, is enough to make you wonder. Has he finally come to his senses? Since the weekend at Camp David, he has barely been noticed. He hardly speaks. He barely shows up. He seems to be fading away...

The war can be summed up in three lines: on some days, U.S. forces attack, but only lightly; on others, Iran retaliates against its Gulf neighbors and Jordan, whose missile defenses are rapidly running out. And once they do, American bases will be left completely vulnerable. It's Iran’s checkmate.

When two liars meet, distrust never dies. That is Trump and Iran in a nutshell. One insists they are talking and negotiating; the other categorically denies that any dialogue is taking place.

Trump wants to walk away from the game, but three months before the elections, he no longer has an acceptable way out. These two liars will eventually cancel each other out, leaving the game in a draw. What a saga!

-Araghchi: Donald, are you awake? Today it’s our turn, don’t forget. Odd-numbered days are ours. Even-numbered days are yours! -Trump: My friend we’re fully loaded. You’re very cheeky, but just wait and see what you’ve never seen before! We’re getting really angry… so don’t say I didn’t warn you!

The speed with which Prime Ministers succeed one another in Britain, combined with the parties’ internal rules, does little to reinforce the idea that voters should be consulted directly on whether they want a change of PM. Now, this new PM is positioned to the left of Starmer. Let's see!

Andy Burnham is the seventh British Prime Minister in ten years. The rate of political survival is dismal: on average, each Prime Minister—whether Conservative or Labour—lasts only about 1.4 years in office. All have fallen for different reasons, some of them almost farcical.

Trump was fiercely opposed to the idea of Iran imposing a toll in Hormuz. “Unacceptable!” “Never!” “These are international waters!” he proclaimed. Now, shamelessness, he announces that he will be the guardian of the strait and will charge 20% of the value of the goods passing through it...

Trump should get it out of his head that is merely a nuclear issue. The US, the Europeans and dozens of other countries must combine diplomatic efforts and military leverage to prevent any temptation to move in that direction if the Hormuz precedent were ever allowed to stand. As if we needed that!

Tehran, with Oman's opaque assistance, would love to impose tolls on the Strait of Hormuz, which it regards as its own. But what if the same happened between Gibraltar and Morocco? Would anyone accept having to ask permission to enter the Mediterranean? Only 14km wide!...

It was a relaxed summit, apart from the dispute with Sánchez, which will soon be forgotten. The beautiful Giorgia Meloni was there, but she pays no attention to Trump, and that is perhaps the greatest insult he can suffer: he is no longer the centre of the universe.

Apart from the “attack” on Spain, Trump made the NATO summit all about his meeting with his new and great friend: Zelensky. He sensed a shift in the balance of power. He sensed a man on the verge of victory. He is even prepared to grant Ukraine a licence to produce Patriot missiles...

Trump continues to do what he has always done: provoke, exaggerate, and insult. But there is a difference now. Many of his counterparts no longer react. And for a narcissist, few things are more unsettling than discovering that he is no longer the centre of attention.

...The process was not pretty. It unfolded amid insults, threats, and a simplistic understanding of what a defensive alliance of 32 sovereign nations represents. Yet it produced results. And results matter. The clearest proof of NATO’s vitality is that it expanded in the wake of Ukraine War.

NATO cannot be subject to the whims of an American president. Any American president. Paradoxically, it was during the Trump era that the Alliance began to correct an imbalance that had persisted for decades. European allies were forced to take a hard look at their own defence...

On the 4º July in USA, Trump seemed to think he was celebrating his own 250th birthday. Such was the excitement. Such was the grandeur of his ambitions. The fireworks at Mount Rushmore seemed to carry only one message: how much he would like to see his own likeness carved into the mountain!

All the signs, from the constant threats to the military posture in Europe, point to yet another of Trump's childish stunts: not showing up in Ankara for the NATO Summit on the 7th and 8th. Whatever may go wrong now, at this stage, will eventually change on Nov. 3 or, at the latest, on Jan 20, 2029!

Trump secured, in Scotus, an absolutely remarkable victory within the system of checks and balances. The President may dismiss the heads of independent regulatory agencies for political reasons. This amounts to a troubling expansion of executive power: either they do as he directs, or are fired.

Where are Venezuela’s Armed Forces? Confined to their barracks? From the images being seen around the world, there appear to be no military personnel helping with the earthquake relief efforts. Neither soldiers nor heavy machinery. What is the interim President doing?

Venezuela A disaster of this magnitude, with 50,000 people reported missing, requires all Venezuelans, wherever they may be, all Armed Forces to take part in the search and rescue operations with urgency. The hours and days are passing without any sign of an organized, efficient relief effort!

Days of War II — Donald, what about our understanding? — What understanding, Araghchi? The one from the memorandum? That's already over... — It can't be like this, Donald. You're always changing your mind... — Araghchi, my friend, we will attack until the 4th of July, the day of our fireworks...

The disclosure of the British monarchy’s expenses is a useful exercise in transparency and a source of considerable perplexity. It has emerged that a trip by Princess Anne to a rugby match cost more than £20,000 — roughly the same amount spent on the King and Queen’s journeys between their palaces.

Other than expenses, one piece of news that may be less welcome: King Charles III does not actually live at Buckingham Palace. He does not want to and does not enjoy living there; instead, he goes there each day much as one would commute to an office. It seems King may have to move house after all.

What we are witnessing is the rise of a new, harder and more radical socialist left—something that would have been unthinkable had it not been for the foolish and reckless radicalism that Trump brought to the American right.

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are the other side of the MAGA coin. To a large extent, they are part of the NYork electorate’s reaction to the excesses of the White House. Mayor Mamdani was the first sign, and the most recent primaries have shown that the Democratic Party is changing...

Trump barely sleeps. He has a pool hundreds of meters long and spent $14 million renovating it. He wants it to be a reflection of himself, but the results are catastrophic. They painted it, refurbished it, and when they finally filled it, the water turned green instead of blue. Algae everywhere...

The next PM of UK will be chosen by a few hundred thousand members and affiliated supporters of the Labour Party. In practice, the person who reaches Downing Street may be endorsed by only a tiny fraction of the national electorate, which is a mechanism poorly suited to modern democratic standards.

In the United Kingdom, dissatisfaction is growing with the system that chews through prime ministers. In the space of just five years — the length of a parliamentary term — Starmer would become the third head of government to be pushed out of Downing Street.

Millions of Britons elected Keir Starmer to occupy Downing Street, yet that national legitimacy counts for little if a majority of MPs from his own party decide to remove him and back another leader instead. It happened to Boris Johnson, and it could now happen to Starmer.

Trump picked on the wrong person: Giorgia Meloni. He could have chosen Starmer, but instead he thought it wise to boast at the expense of the attractive Meloni, who, according to him, was chasing him for a photo at the G7. Liar as always, Trump might end up getting a couple of well-deserved slaps!

Iran has announced that, within 60 days, it will impose tariffs and transit fees in the Strait of Hormuz. And Trump, in a state of apparent delusion, believes he has signed an agreement for Iran's surrender. This is the reality today: there is neither understanding nor a memorandum.
