The ONLY thing that makes it "ICE" is a govt license plate and some guy yelling that it is an ICE action. These are men in unmarked clothing who bear NO resemblance to any ICE agents - no placards, badges, uniforms, or weapons. This has all the hallmarks of the kidnapping under pretense we feared.

Absolutely. And those states that did vote for him...get the fabulous prize of jack squat too yet they continue to cheer for him. My relatives know well what is happening and they are doing their very best to foster change from within the state where they have honorable roots for generations.

Very true. Generally a custody battle ensues first - since Child Support is heavily calculated on custodial time in the majority of states - which is expensive and exhausting and usually unnecessary. Then a fight over the actual Support dollars.

It is utterly irrelevant how physically fit the Secretary of Defense may or may not be. It makes no difference how dapper his hair, how clear his skin, or how flawless his oratory. Just do the damned job as countless others have done before.

The ones that are tough are the 50+ who had been looking at the "empty nest/implement our retirement dreams" years. Surprise - neither one of you is going to travel the world now! Maybe try some counseling instead of blowing up your lives? Weird for an atty to say, I know...

I recently spoke to someone who, in 2024 deliberately "rolled up my vote, set it on fire, and voted 3rd party knowing it meant nothing." He said it with a smile and apparently no regret. The more I think about it, the angrier I become.

They are not even bad impersonators. They put a license plate on the vehicle but other than that there is nothing marking them as agents.

The ONLY thing ICE about that video was the license plate which can easily be duplicated/fabricated. None of those men bore the slightest resemblance to ICE agents in body type, clothing, or general mannerisms. I strongly suspect that this was not an ICE operation and was what we have been fearing

Family Law atty here. That is not even remotely unusual. The expectation is that she can, after being out of the workplace for 20+ years, simply slip back in to making a salary that will easily cover all of her needs so long as she "is willing to work now" so there is no problem. 🙄

I have relatives in AL. They are wonderful people who have been there for generations (my father went military and left) and are lovely spots of blue amongst the red. They are the only family I have. I would love to be close to them but I could never manage like they have done over the years.

Any crying was from the families of the wrongfully detained and those who are hungry or without proper medical care.

Incredibly frustrating for those who simply cannot go physically to the polls. I am fortunate in that, while it is going to be inconvenient and of questionable safety depending on what happens in coming days, I am able and willing to go.

I'm good with that. I was that kid labeled "undeserving." If someone with kind eyes had handed me a cookie and given me a hug, I would have cried in shocked gratitude. I probably still would to this day. It becomes a part of you and has absolutely nothing yo do with how much money you make.

Yes. I am very familiar with it. My point is that cases which we are able to refer to as "but what about this one instance that made the news" illustrate the oddity. If this kind of injustice happened every day, it would not be shocking front page news.

Agnostic and former Episcopalian here (Catholic light - 1/3 less guilt than the original religion 😀) and I like this Pope too. Obviously have a bunch of disagreements but he appears to have genuinely good intentions for bringing peace and unity.
