Music is such a beautifully global thing. Here's the wonderful DJ Manolis Stavroulakis who tagged us in a lovely post, showcasing the vinyl edition of "The Stonefruit Sessions" all the way over in Greece.

A little quite as we work on new music. What's news this week with you?

The debut album "The Stonefruit Sessions" may sound sample-driven in the style of our Aussie #samplephonic friends and former label-mates like Gotye or The Avalanches. But each track is a mix of found sounds and live piano, jazz guitar, bass guitar, drums, etc. We like to sample but we LOVE to play.

Trovaire members Dennis and David met some 20 years ago while touring in bands (Dennis in Statler & Waldorf, David in Superfluid and Segue). Think "Underworld and Chemical Brothers" and you've got the era. Needless to say, quite the shift from Trovaire's #triphop, chill out and Balearic Beats vibe.

We wrote "Oh How Lovely" after being inspired by a French jazz cellist, and giving things a touch of #triphop attitude. We hope you love it as much as we do... ffm.to/ohhowlovely.OTW

Trovaire fact: our debut album "The Stonefruit Sessions" was named after the bar and cafe Stonefruit, situated in Tenterfield, a remote Australian town. Stonefruit has become a cultural oasis for the community here, and an unlikely but productive home for #triphop and samplephonic culture.

Whereas most of the album is somewhere in the realms of #triphop our single "To Leave The Sea" is hard to pin down. We think "Balearic House" might be the right genre... but what would you call it? ffm.link/tltsvideo.OTW

Intros for all our new friends here. We are Trovaire 👋 Our debut album "The Stonefruit Sessions" was written and recorded at the Summerhouse Studio on a remote 500 acre farm in Australia's granite belt. Inspired by #triphop, #jazz, and sample culture, we've crafted a beautiful album for you.

"Op Shops" are, in Australian lingo, what we call thrift stores (or charity shops for our UK friends). And we love them. Here's a little song Dennis composed after stumbling across this little instrument in the Tenterfield salvos... what should we do with it? #musicofbluesky #musicprodsky #triphop

Today is Bandcamp Friday, where @bandcamp waives their fees and artists get the full support of their community for every purchase made. So today is a good day to grab a copy of "The Stonefruit Sessions" (which won't be streaming until 2025 sometime). trovaire.bandcamp.com/album/t...

Our debut album is called "The Stonefruit Sessions", and is so named after the namesake bar and cafe in #Tenterfield, a remote town in the Australian granite belt. #Stonefruit has become a cultural oasis for the local creative community, and no shortage of inspiration for the music we create.

Rehearsals can be more fun than performances, right? Here we record some runs through the first single from The Stonefruit Sessions, a track called "To Leave The Sea" which we've never quite worked out the genre. Is it #Chillout? #Jazz? #Balearic #House? What do you think? ffm.link/tltslivevide...

Thank you for your kind comments... the film clip for "To Leave The Sea" has, pardon the pun, sailed over its first 2000 views in the first two weeks since release. It is our first ever film clip, so starting from a cold start, so this means a lot to us. Thank you. ffm.link/tltsvideo.OTW

Here's an insight into the difference that community makes for an independent artist. The first radio station to pick up our single "To Leave The Sea" was in Madrid, Spain, and on the first night they played it, over 400 listeners used Shazam to work out what it was (and 817 just that week alone).

Seeing vintage synth ads popping up in the feed, and I keep thinking about how magical the Korg polyphonic synths seemed as a kid (but then we ended up just have an MS-20 as one of Trovaire's go-to character synths so... there's that). #Korg #analoguesynths #vintagesynths

Timeline cleanse... the benefit of building a studio on a farm in rural Australia is the peace and quiet to focus on writing music. But we still get a lot of colourful guests, just of a different kind to what we got back in Paris and San Francisco. This little guy is an Australian King Parrot.

One of the benefits of building our studio out in a remote part of Australia is this, our private road in and out, which has a magical way of leaving worries behind for those beautiful moments we come together to make music, art, and memories with friends. Happy Friday from downunder.

These modern tools can surprise in strange ways. We were curious if Shazam would know our song, "To Leave The Sea", that was just released last week. And there's already 180 other shazams of it. Who are you wonderful humans? Where are you? Either way, thank you for listening <3

One of the unbroken truths of crate digging in Australia is that you will always find at least one Kamahl record. In the southern states you're going to find a lot of Nana Mouskouri but Kamahl is undefeated as the king of all op shop vinyl crates. #opshopping #cratedigging #kamahl #australiathings
