I completed C25K today! I was a regular runner at one time, but until I began this programme I hadn't done any running for over 30 years. When I started again, even 60 seconds seemed a long time to run, so I'm quite chuffed with myself. Though I am verrrry slowwww! 😂

Four of my favourite nonfiction reads in 2025 - thought-provoking, powerful, hearbreaking, and beautifully written.

I made it onto a 'best reads of 2025' list on Substack! Thanks to Helen Lapping for including Crossing the Lines as her best novella read!

I had a lovely evening at Pickering Book Tree the other week, reading from The Blue of You and chatting with the wonderful Clare Almond about all things writerly. Thanks also to Andrew and Steph, and to the stoic audience who came out despite the torrential rain and high winds!

As well as The Blue of You being recommended by a reviewer as an ideal stocking filler - Christmas setting and under a tenner! - my writing has been likened to that of both Claire Keegan and Anne Tyler! That's far too generous, but I'm taking it! www.pickeringbooktree.co.uk/event/amanda...

010

Amanda Huggins @troutiemcfish.bsky.social · 12/11/2025

Yes, I know I shouldn't mention the dreaded festive season, but it's only a few weeks away! And The Blue of You has been called a 'stocking filler', so now I definitely can...

www.pickeringbooktree.co.uk/event/amanda... As well as rescheduling my event at Marsden Library - still tbc - I have another event lined up at Pickering Book Tree on Friday December 5th if any of you can make it! It's a free event and tickets can be booked using the link.

I'm so sorry, but tonight's event at Marsden Library has had to be cancelled - due to me being (very uncharacteristically) poorly! Apologies for the short notice, but I was battling on and thought I could still do it! The event will be rescheduled, so I'll keep you posted!
