Are you seeing these games behind closed doors or do you have any examples you can point to of reasonably complex games produced by prompting without any expertise? I haven't come across any I know to be AI but I'm super curious what the current "state of the art" is, so to speak.

I made the footstep sfx for this in high school by running on my childhood desk with my fingers like they were a little guy! Nifflas is one of the best and has been for over 20 years. Really honored to have contributed bits and pieces to his games over the years.

I've been off the radar for a bit trying to maintain my new-father sanity, but I managed to sneak away for a few minutes to do some music & sound with Heart Machine friends for a jam! We didn't get super far yet, but we got some great foundations laid for something very soothing.

Microsoft's Windows Explorer works well enough and it is not absolutely necessary to own Soundminer if you are used to the workflow. Boom I said it !! you are welcome to come fight me about it but you will probably win because I have no martial arts training

Feel that... 2024 was one of the best and worst years of my life. Step dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer a couple weeks after my son was born. Think we're reaching the point in our lives where it's not always "onwards and upwards" every year 😞 Hope the good outweighs the bad in 2025!

Good story for you: when working on Solar Ash, Disasterpeace was saying he wanted really subtle SFX where possible. I said "I did SFX for this game Knytt and the footsteps were literally my fingers on my desk." He said "that's what I've been referencing for subtle SFX!!" So... you've got this 😄
