I'm first a #Rockies fan, but I follow a number of fans from my second teams. None of those teams are doing well this year, but their fans sound like it's the apocalypse. I would commit mayhem to have any one of those teams' records.

I believe I am going to add "painting walls" to the list of things I am willing to pay some professional to do.

#FridayFinish This is the #crossstitch abstract landscape I've been working on in between SAL exhibits and other projects. Sometimes I just need a project like this - simple, repetitive (oy, that sky was repetitive!), and with a final product I like.

A circular abstract cross stitch landscape piece, completed. In the foreground are abstract pine trees as if seen from a distance is shades of dark and medium blue. In the background are mountains in shades of medium to light purple (purple mountains majesty, as it were). In the sky is a V of small dark shapes that look like birds in flight from a distance.

Today is Ginger Cat Appreciation Day. I appreciate ours every day. They make sure I do, even if I'm busy doing something else. They don't care. They're gingers.

This is Sunny. She's about 14. She sleeps a lot. Except when she wants attention. Which is usually when I'm going to sleep. Her headbutts hurt. Her head is HARD.

This is Mork. He often looks like a cream tabby in pictures, but he's truly a light orange in real life. He wants to know three things: have you got treats? Why have you stopped brushing me and scratching my chin? Where did the birdies outside the window go?

No cheating. Share the last photo of the sky from your camera roll (if you feel like it)

Happy #internationalcatday! This is Puma. She is longbig. She is tallbig. She is also widebig. We are working on that. Unfortunately Puma is not interested in such things so it is not going well.

A large black cat is laying on a maple chair. She has large yellow eyes that let you know whatever you are saying is going in one ear and out the other.

No cheating. Post your lock screen.

A phone lock screen. It's a medium purple gradient from the lighter top to the darker bottom.

No matter what the Rockies do or don't do at the deadline, I am going to be SO HAPPY when MLB trade season is over. I lost interest in the incessant "will they, won't they" weeks ago.

Just watched the new heat pump which replaced the dying heat pump be craned to the roof. It is quieter. It is cooler. It is expensiver. I forgot to take pictures so imagine a large gray metal box with a fan cutout on one side hanging from a strap on a small bright red crane.

Rise and grind

4 panel momo comic:

Panel 1: momo in bed. We see the sun has risen through the bedroom window. Text reads “I wake up”

Panel 2: momo behind his table. There’s a coffee pot and a pink cup of coffee on it. Text reads “pour myself a little coffee”

Panel 3: he’s in a chair behind the table with an opened laptop and a glass of water. It says “check my little emails”

Panel 4: we see he left his house. Door still a little bit open. Text: “ignore them a little bit” as momo gleefully goes to play outside rather than answering his work duties

I was at school in DC for a year, and being a poor student, I spent a lot of time at the Smithsonian. I never got past the impressionist wing of the National Gallery. So many of the Monets grabbed me, but this one most of all.

Houses of Parliament Sunset, Claude Monet.

Has anyone seen The Swedish Chef lately? (Yes, I know what it is - 50% ground beef, 50% ground pork. I'd just never heard it called that before.😁)

A grocery store sign advertising Ground Bork $8.00 for a 2 pound package.

This is one of the things I love about #baseball: the obscure "records" that you can find. "He's the third player who dresses left and was born under a waning gibbous moon in a single digit month AND day to hit a ground rules double to left center field in an away game before 5:30pm."

Progress continues apace on the current #crossstitch projects. Two of the three parts of Exhibit 3 of the #MuseumAfterMidnightSAL (don't worry if it doesn't make sense) and the abstract landscape, now somewhat less abstract. #WIPWednesday

A partly done cross stitch of some kind of hanging plant or goo in purple with some not finished stones around it, all in a Victorian style arch. More to some since it's a SAL.

More pf a partly finished cross sititch, this time a large red and black prehistoric millpede or centipede or something (I'm not stopping to count legs; it's a bug) and some dragonflies with ethereal white wings, all in the same Victorian arched framework.

A partly done abstract landscape (look, they're all partly done; it's WIP Wednesday after all) that is now more than just purple blobs - it also has blue blobs! The bottom of the dark blue blob towards the bottom is crenellated to look like pine trees, which it's supposed to.

This Gambel's Quail is giving the cat conniptions. There is a window between them but the cat doesn't care. #birds

A Gambel's Quail sitting just outside a window on gray/beige gravel. Picture taken through that window because I wondered what had the cat all bothered, so picture is a little fuzzy. Not so fuzzy that you can't easily see it's a quail.

Minor League Baseball has it's own issues. I've just had to switch to watching another game because the wind is blowing around their center field camera bad enough to trigger motion sickness.

#WIPWednesday Still working on the #MuseumAfterMidnightSAL frame. It's not terribly exciting, but it does form the foundation for the rest of the piece. First picture is the second row all done because the second picture is after I moved the hoop. #crossstitch

Museum After Midnight stitch along - the middle part of the frame is done. It's brownish arches and pieces of columns and floors. It won't look like much until there are exhibits stitched in there to make it look like, you know, a museum.

Another view of the Museum After Midnight framework. You can see the tops of the arches and a bunch of black squiggles because I just moved the hoop and I haven't filled in much on this section yet. At the very top of the picture is a somewhat out of focus vaguely cat shaped blob sleeping on a rug; this is the source of all the dark "specialty fibers" in my cross stitch projects.

Baseball games like the one tonight make it very hard to be a Rockies fan. Let alone keep believing the FO knows what it's doing.

If you see this, post your blue art 💙 I bought the magazine with this pattern roughly 25 years before I finally stitched it.

A small cross stitch of mountains, a river, and trees beneath a night sky. Many of the mountains and trees are negative space, apoearing only because of the color behind them.

Watching #rockies batting practice - some rightie put a couple nice swings on a couple of balls. Not sure who - seats are close but not that close. Still nice to see Rockies bats hittimg balls.

Finally finished all the seventy gazillion little one strand French knots all around the wings. I finally went and watched a video on how to do the itty bitty ones; after that, it went much better. #FridayFinish #crossstitch

Finished cross stitch project of a gray tabby kitten with pink wings sitting in a heavily ombred pink flower with a green stem and calyx beneath it. Around the wings are lots of yellow dots, representing sparkles, and representing hours of stupid teensy French knots which actually look pretty good up close but they're so small no one will ever notice.
