his name is lethargic. he's an IRC chatbot I wrote in 2011 and has been through IRC, skype, and is now on discord (in private servers with friends.) the algorithm has been unchanged since the beginning.

Lethargic’s algorithm

Lethargic’s primary response generator uses a bespoke algorithm that uses neither templates nor markov chains.
Take the user’s input:
Hello lethargic, how are you doing today?
Then pick a random message from a dataset of old IRC logs
brb throwing my computer against the wall
Then we interlace these two sentences, one word at a time, excluding ending punctuation:
Hello brb lethargic, throwing how my are computer you against doing the today wall

Lethargic's algorithm continued
Hello brb lethargic, throwing how my are computer you against doing the today wall
We replace “lethargic” with “me” and other pronouns so that they are inverted (like ELIZA)
Hello brb me, throwing how your are computer me against doing the today wall
Finally we pass this amalgamation into google translate a bunch of times through multiple languages to get our response:
Hey, wait a minute, how's your computer doing today after I hit my head against a wall?

There's a new phishing scam taking place currently on Discord and it involves compromised accounts trying to get you to "watch anime" with them through an unknown watch-party app (PLEASE SHARE THIS AROUND) 🧵

The Knife Foxes are Nad's pirate crew of miscreants. Many are deserters, drifters, and drudges from seedy corners of the world seeking easy fortune. When not arguing with their self-appointed Tanuki Captain, they bumble around, hoping to catch victims unaware with their knives.

A group illustration of four fox bandits wielding blades of various styles on a foggy beach early in the morning. It's a good spread of male and female foxes who wear a variant of brown ear hats, red shirts and tan bottoms, such as torn pants or skirts.

Fox Archers who were supposed to be in the original Knife Fox Illustration, but I didn't scan their line art before coloring them in marker. #sketchbook

Traditional marker sketch of two anthropomorphic fox archers. Left sketch a female fox and the right sketch male facing away from camera. Both foxes carry arrows in their large fluffy tails like an arrow quiver, while they also hold small arrows in their teeth preparing to fire more arrows with their bows.

I personally really really liked the Nintendo Direct from today. Super excited for the Ocarina Of Time Remake... It makes me super hopeful for a Majora's Mask remake, MM is my favorite game of the franchise and seeing Nintendo give it some love would make me so so SO happy.

also just learned from a friend that their recommended play order is "Kingdom Hearts > KH: Chain of Memories > KH: 358/2 Days > KH: Birth By Sleep > Kingdom Hearts 2 > KH: Recoded > KH: Dream Drop Distance > KH 3" which is INSANE!!!!!! so many games like what the heck..
