Recent polling shows that 66% of Americans cannot comfortably afford paying $1,000 for an emergency expense. In particular, young women of color would struggle. The affordability crisis needs to be addressed.

And why would you float the 51st state idea if you thought Canada represented a NST? I'm confident no one actually sees Canada as a NST. If you do, then you truly have no understanding of the country and our relations.
