Not quite sure where I'm going with this, tbh. I'm not actually 100% anti "ai" (I do hate the term - ml and llms are not intelligent) as I think most tech in and of itself is neutral. It's the usage that's always the problem. And humans always gonna human 🤷🏻

It's why slop is such a good term - if anyone can have an idea and tell an "ai" to just do it for them then you just get an endless sea of rubbish. Technically it's serving a similar function in the way a food slop or slurry does - delivering calories - but it is doing nothing more.

There always used to be this thing that ideas were 'easy' and it's execution that's 'hard'. By enabling 'easy' execution (I'm setting aside all sorts of other issues here) "Ai" kinda shows that was never quite true. *Good* ideas are hard, and always will be.

As I was kinda expecting, FFF 448 is about the changes to platform drag calculations in Factorio, so it's kinda an interesting one (well, for me anyway)... but I have a cold :( I've finally recorded my video (super croaky voice and all), but the edit may take a while!

The fact they can be recursive (factory within a factory within a factory) is incredible. You can often brute force the required shape or you can come up with some mad, super deep factory that snaps the laws of physics.

It's very much in the shapez 2 factory builder mould, but it takes the same idea as modulus (customise the building to do what you want) and makes it more like the factorissimo mod for factorio so they can be complex mini factories.
