The main thing that Umineko drives home that is so important for mystery novels that always gets forgotten in the whodunit is the human component. That is why Umineko is so good. It asks the question whodunit but then poses the far superior question of "whydunit".

I am now seeing people justify the use of AI in programming daily. Sorry but if you hold that opinion, AI use in Art is also justified

The "I haven't played x-game yet but have strong opinion on x-game" type of video essay needs to stop. If you have a strong opinion on a game you should have at least tried it.

I'm kinda into the idea that Friendslop is an official genre.

I am about to do something really financially irresponsible next week and I know it. But also it's something we wanted for a long time. And there's a chance it might not even be possible.

The fact that many artists to this day find that AI Coding is okay because it's not stealing from someone instead of actually showing solidarity with programmers is the foot in the door for Gen AI.

It's still insane to me that people were hating on Mario Kart World over the 80$ price tag and turned around and praised Sonic Racing Crossword which launched at 70$ with a 20$ DLC day one.

Should look into 1000xRESIST. There's so many themes going on in the game and it's a "artsy" indie game

Recently love watching people who completely destroy anti Nintendo grifters. It's crazy how much misinfo is there and how little research these people actually do. Current target: "The forgot about 3D Mario" people.

Trilightning (Game Dev Arc?) @trilightning.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

I think it's a good sign that Anti Nintendo grifters are getting less and less attention as people actually realize the Switch 2 is worth it.

I see mfers on here hating on Nintendo b ut also turn around and spend money and make free advertising for Hoyoverse games.

Just played the Cairn demo on Switch and I am super excited for the game to come out. Was a lot of fun!

Sony players are currently celebrating that the Wolverine game has sold 1.9 million in 3 days. For added context: to break even the game has to sell 6 million copies at full price...

Old school Monster Hunter is just a slot machine for adults.

Back in my English classes "Hire and Fire" was mentioned. It was explained as a way Americans treat employment. That was in the early 2000s. This mentality has been there in american corporations for forever. And yes it's a cancer on game development.

People who still frequently use Twitter fascinate me. While this platform is weird at times and can be the worst at times, I can't even imagine being back to twitter in that shit hole. I am so much better off on here tbh.

They are the same miracles. Most of them even better. And one thing people never mention is the portability aspect is still a thing? People don't realize how big a deal it is to get Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2 while running decently. Especially RPGs benefit s lot from Switch 2.

These Monster Hunter Wilds Weapon Showcases show one thing: Capcom truly hates the Switchaxe. Why is it always the last weapon?

010

Trilightning (Game Dev Arc?) @trilightning.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Capcom hitting it out of the park with game pricing on Switch 2. Monster Hunter Wilds is 40€ and Dragons Dogma 2 is 50€. 2 extremely big games that together are under 100€

Trilightning (Game Dev Arc?) @trilightning.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

This is basically a steal. I don't even care anymore how it runs. For Wilds on A mobile system I would definitely put down 40$

Pretty excited about the prospect of maybe Seamus becoming more and more like a Metroid and her instincts as a Metroid taking over until she actually becomes the most dangerous thing in the universe for everyone else.

Nintendo can literally release 6 first party games in the next 6 months and people would still be disappointed that it wasn't more. Seriously our standards are wack as fuck.

I said it before but I would really love to have a slice of life anime series about Rex, his Wives and his daughters lol
