i have many ! but only these ones have refs

main sona delta. an ajuranth sea dragon is a kind of alien mammal-adjacent species that vaguely resembles a traditional 'dragon'

secondary sona, tessel. a coleura is an alien that resembles a combination of a cephalopod and an otter (coleoid + lutra = coleura). they have an internal shell like some kinds of octopus that shields the organs, so tessel has a very smooth belly.

tertiary sona, nigredo. she has more squidlike traits than tessel, including a mantle and tentacles. the fins on her stomach are actual limbs like on a regular fish, and are capable of movement.

thats why these things ⬇️ have weird little lips. ok bye

my character tessel, who is a species of cephalopod-like alien

my character nigredo, who is the same but with squid and fish traits. she has a small snout and nostrils in addition to lips.

if you look up pictures of the beak you will often see just The Beak, but thats bc its often been removed from the surrounding bit for visual clarity. it doesn't just.. look like that.

close up of a squid's beak still embedded within the buccal mass. the buccal mass forms a thick lip around it that is pushed out slightly by the beak itself. at rest, the buccal lip hides the beak from sight.

dead (?) giant squid with its tentacles pulled back to show the buccal mass containing the beak and radula (tongue). unclear to me if the beak has been removed somehow or is just pushed out for visibility.

screenshot from a powerpoint showing the cephalopod beak.
on the left is the beak with the buccal mass removed; it looks more like a bird beak this way.
on the right, the beak is shown still embedded within the buccal mass.

bad sketch of the top and bottom parts of a fursuit jawset hinged together like a moving-jaw head but without the rest of the head

isnt it interesting how 'realistic' implicitly means 'skinny'? to emphasize the bone structure, the tendons, the underlayers of the flesh. fat and the imitation thereof is rhetorically made cartoonish, exaggerated. fat becomes a layer of absurdity covering the "realism" of emaciation.

three sketches of the same anthropomorphic dragon character, attempting to 'realistically' fatten the nonhuman face and body

i still want to draw her a proper ref sheet in my own style but oughgh

a (currently unnamed) dragon, made using a heavily edited version of the pricklypaws chibi base. character is green with pink and orange accents, including a corded pink mane and beard.

side view of the same fursuit head, showing lop ears with bows on them and several flowers on top of the veil.

tumblr post (OP redacted so they won't be harrassed):

"lowkey highkey I don't want to be part of this ongoing trend where people act like art is the purest most important goodliest thing we have and if someone makes any art at all it means they're Passionate and if they're Passionate then it's Always Morally Good and you should never, ever call any work of Real art bad, because then we're losing to the AI slop, or whatever. you sound like the democratic party."

posting these about nothing for no particular reason

$excerpt from chapter 1 of the communist manifesto, describing the petit bourgeoisie. despite listing small manufacturers, shopkeepers and artisans, a statistically significant amount of the people claiming the title 'artist' do not actually fall into this class (at least, not within the context of their country of residence; the imperial core artisan that relies on cheap foreign labor is in many ways still a member of the petit bourgeoisie when viewed within a global context.) full text: The lower middle class, the small manufacturer, the shopkeeper, the artisan, the peasant, all these fight against the bourgeoisie, to save from extinction their existence as fractions of the middle class. They are therefore not revolutionary, but conservative. Nay more, they are reactionary, for they try to roll back the wheel of history. If by chance, they are revolutionary, they are only so in view of their impending transfer into the proletariat; they thus defend not their present, but their future interests, they desert their own standpoint to place themselves at that of the proletariat.$

excerpt from chapter 1 of the communist manifesto, describing exactly what's happening in front of us all right now and the process through which the proletarianized middle class's proximity to wealth lessens into nothing (again, for the imperial core citizen, mainly within the context of their country of residence vs. globally).

highlighted text:
"The modern labourer, on the contrary, instead of rising with the process of industry, sinks deeper and deeper below the conditions of existence of his own class. He becomes a pauper, and pauperism develops more rapidly than population and wealth. And here it becomes evident, that the bourgeoisie is unfit any longer to be the ruling class in society, and to impose its conditions of existence upon society as an over-riding law. It is unfit to rule because it is incompetent to assure an existence to its slave within his slavery, because it cannot help letting him sink into such a state, that it has to feed him, instead of being fed by him. Society can no longer live under this bourgeoisie, in other words, its existence is no longer compatible with society. "

i love to invent really complex characters and then attempt to draw them in a low-detail style for. some reason

a chibi sketch of my pokesona Urushi, a fat and very spiky scolipede. despite the intended proportions, the biggest part of the piece is urushi's horns and not her head. she's posing with one hand on her hip.

incomplete drawing of some kind of octopus alien made by heavily modifying the pricklypaws chunky chibi base. its got one eye, head tentacles, and suction cups for paw pads.
