Not a novel, not a comic, but a secret third thing. Trial by Fire is an original urban fantasy story featuring magic, demons and two guys who are too stupid to realize they're in love. Check out written chapters, short comics and illustrations at www.trial-by-fire.net! #TrialByFire #OCsky #oc

A comic style illustration of two characters in a dynamic pose. Aleister is a demon with medium-length red hair and mismatched eyes- one normal green one and one with an orange pupil and black sclera. He has two large, slightly curved horns and red dragon-like wings. He waves a fireball through the air with a clawed hand.
Emil is a young man with shorter, fluffy white hair in a navy blue uniform with gold accents. He conjures blue fire from his fingertips in a way that mirrors Aleister.

A painting of Aleister and Emil as demons in fancy outfits. Emil's is white with gold accents and a black cape. As a demon, he has curved black horns and a thin black tail with a fluffy tip. Aleister's outfit is black with gold and red accents. Emil sits cross-legged in a regal-looking chair and reaches one hand towards Aleister, who stands behind him and leans in close, with one hand on Emil's shoulder.

An illustration of the scene where Emil first summoned Aleister. The demon floats in midair with wisps of smoke floating around him and grabs Emil's chin with his clawed fingers, giving a fanged smile as he assesses him. Emil looks slightly younger here and clutches some books to his chest. He meets the demon's gaze with a look of intrigue and mild shock.

A rough painting of Aleister and Emil in black, white and orange. The demon Aleister dips an unconscious Emil with one arm, almost as if dancing. With the other hand he draws a stream of flame from Emil's chest that swirls around them and into the foreground.
