A corn dog is a vertebrate animal with an attached shell like a turtle, whereas a hot dog is an invertebrate with a necessary, but removable shell like a hermit crab. Pigs-in-a-blanket are invertebrates with an exoskeleton like insects. Hope this helps.

Maybe make basically socks out of fake leather and stitch it to flip flop soles. The rope over the top of the foot could probably be attached to the sides of the sole as well. The ankle ropes and bands would probably have to be separate pieces you put on when you wear the shoes.

Media that scared me as a kid? Anything with corpses, dead or undead. Skeletons, zombies, unwrapped mummies... I hated all of it. I remember being particularly scared by an episode of Goosebumps where some kids are climbing through a ventilation shaft or something and a skeleton falls on them.
