🎵Some Things Never Leave by Anabelle Dinda🎵 I gotta thank TikTok for introducing me to so many hidden gems. Anabelle's lyricism is some of the most rich I've heard in recent memory. Her folksy voice adds such a personal touch to all her songs like she's just talking to you.

🎞️Chainsaw Man: Reze🎞️ Dude oh my god making this a movie was a BRILLIANT IDEA. I already liked S1's direction but this is everything man. On revisit I think this is Fujimoto's finest work, seeing these scenes with full acting and composition really cemented that feeling for me.

📅STARBOMB: Probably The Only Tour Ever 📅 There's a surreal feeling seeing people you've watched since you were a kid in person like "BRO YOU'RE REAL?" I had a total blast. All the skits and cameos in-between were SO funny and they played some favorites of mine.

📖Chainsaw Man: Part II I'm so torn. On one hand it was certainly never boring and there are a couple really good scenes. But on the other, the whole thing feels so messy, I think the controlled chaos that made Part 1 so special got out of hand and couldn't stick the landing.

📺MHA: Vigilantes S1📺 A fun addition to the universe, the visuals are so good it makes me jealous the main series didn't get this kinda love in some seasons. I think the story is pretty good but Knuckleduster was easily the highlight above all else, he's a great character.

📺LOKI: Season 2📺 While the first half can be a tad boring at times, MAN those last two episodes made full use of the time gimmick it was awesome. It was like everytime they were about to do a Marvelism they throw something new and creative at you that was a ton of fun to watch

🏁SEPTEMBER CHECKPOINT🏁 Finished a ton of long-standing backlog items this month so it's time for some new ones as we near the end of some more veterans! Really excited to dig into Berserk. (And I was really missing FMA so I figured it was due for a rewatch).

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

📺Invincible: Season 4📺 While the first half was admittedly pretty slow, MAN that second half has some of the series best. Dreadful stakes and some good character development on all sides, with an unexpected route of where the story goes from here. Feels great to be caught up.

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

📺Invincible: Season 3📺 Okay this was WAY stronger than last season, I feel like it was banger after banger here. It really feels like they're more confident in the world and characters they've created. That last fight was fucking awesome, took me back to the end of Season 1.

YESSS. They weaponize the will they/won't they so well. Kaguya & Miyuki's dynamic is so fleshed out because on top of the absurdity of their pride getting in the way they explore the real-human side of why they act so stubbornly on this, the experiences that melded their pain. It's amazing.

📖Kaguya-sama: Love is War📖 My feelings haven't wavered, in fact they've only gotten stronger. This is my 2nd favorite manga of all time. I'm so sad anime fans won't get to see all the brilliant character work in its 2nd half. Hilarious, emotional, and endlessly rewatchable.

🎵A Matter of Time by Laufey🎵 Multiple heart-shattering life changing songs to sob to at 2AM there's just something about Laufey that pulls out such visceral emotions. I think this is her best work yet with a brilliant array of upbeat, creative, somber, and angry songs.

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

🎵FUNNY little FEARS by Damiano David🎵 A fantastic mix of familiar and new this guy has a bright future ahead of em' I can tell. Some instant classics already with a good amount of variety to keep things fresh. I guarantee this is the kinda album to get even better with time.

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

📺Invincible: Season 2📺 Oh my GOD FINALLY. This season was solid, lot more traditional of a superhero story this time around but that ain't bad. I think Debbie was by far the best character I was very surprised. Much like S1 I think the finale was by far the strongest episode.

🎮Burglin' Gnomes🎮 Within my 4th game or so I spawned out of bounds and genuinely why is there so much modeled world with full collision? The game is centered in a backyard, yet there's all of this space LOL. Oh right yeah the game itself is pretty fun too

🎮Meccha Chameleon🎮 Genuinely what a creative idea for a game. Taking the spirit of prop hunt and adding an extra artistic element is so cool. Even within just two sessions the amount of crazy ways you can blend into your environment is awesome. Can't way to play more.

🎵Hostage of the Heart🎵 I've been following Luna Day for around a year now and grew to love her musical personality. The singles leading up to this release are some of the most earwormy tracks I've heard in recent memory I just can't get enough of how playful her voice is.

📺Super Danganronpa 2.5📺 Literally everything about this OVA is a spoiler so I'll just say this is a weird interesting little nugget of the overall story. Explores a cool alternative perspective on Nagito's character.

🎞️Jennifer's Body🎞️ aka the movie my GOAT New Perspective is from was super entertaining. It's so over the top camp and Megan Fox being this like, ditzy super demon made for fantastic yuri. Genuinely laughed a lot, sometimes a movie's just gotta be fun.

🎵Haikyuu x BOS🎵 I'm new to the world of Haikyuu but a veteran of its music and this is such an awesome tribute to the series. BOS has some of the best tracks in the show so it's cool hearing their takes on some of the other songs from SPYAIR and the like. Perfect gym playlist.

It's cute right?? They do a great job drip-feeding their relationship and exploring new facets of their personalities. The side characters also get some good content too so stay tuned 👀

📺ARCANE: Season 2📺 It feels SO GOOD to finally finish this show. This season was way more abstract? than I thought it would get but I'm not complaining. Viktor and Jinx were definitely my highlights, I really enjoyed the direction they took them. What a gorgeous show.

📺You and I Are Polar Opposites! S1📺 Y'know I usually check things out based on reccs but I stumbled across this manga when it first dropped then it got animated under my nose! So sugary cute I couldn't get enough, the dub especially is top-notch it feels so authentically modern

While the year's not quite done yet, figured it was about time for a proper new favorite character bingo. There's been a lot of heavy hitters from this year alone that I never saw coming and even THEN there's still too many good ones to fit on this list.

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

📺Alien Stage📺 The story is a concentrated series of climaxes encouraging viewers to unravel all the messy relationship angst through context clues. Having watched it all in bulk after the fact I'll say the animation got better and better and Ruler of my Heart was a banger.

🎞️Backrooms🎞️ The actual Backrooms themselves are a very cool setting. The atmosphere and overall concept created some very unsettling imagery. The actual story and characters tho? Not my favorite, everyone felt a little shallow, worst therapist ever LOL.

🎞️Umamusume: New Era🎞️ I think this is a great intro to the IP. It showcases a lot of the aspects of sports spsychology and the terrifying struggle of what to do when your reason for competing is put into question. Not to mention the flow sequences are drop dead GORGEOUS.

📺COBRA KAI📺 This is the best legacy series of all time. I have never seen a show that not only respects but expands upon its history and philosophies with such a fervant passion. The entire ensemble from sensei to students all had something new and powerful to deliver.

🎞️Spider-Man: Brand New Day🎞️ We are so back man. For having so many bold ideas the movie never loses sight of this story of isolation through Peter and the antagonist. That intimate relatability and humanity is the KEY to the best Spidey stories and this one excells at it.

🎞️OBSESSION🎞️ When I tell you I was edging an anxiety attack (in a good way LOL) it is VERY effective of what it does. All the hype is completely deserved. The attention to detail is superb and the acting is brutally real I felt like I was in the room with them at all times.

🎵NSP: Under the Covers IV🎵 Some of Danny's most impressive vocal work yet. I was satisfied with the renditions I did know, and delighted by the songs I somehow missed the originals of. If I had to pick a favorite: Can't Fight This Feeling absolutely takes it.

📺Witch Hat Atelier📺 From the very 1st episode this one had me singing it's praises. Instantly I was swept in the beauty of its world, the eloquence of its performances, the heart of its characters, and its pure creativity. This is an insane feat of art and animation.

📺Haikyu!! Season 2📺 We're finally BACK! This season just really had everything, the buildup to that final rematch was chalk full of great games, intimate insight into more of the team, and some really sweet slice of life moments. And that final game? Hype as fuck, electric even.

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

🎮deltarune: Chapter 5🎮 Some of the sweetest and mushiest moments so far, best word I can use for this chapter is pleasant. Some of the most unhinged jokes, a lot more range for Ralsei's character, and some awesome payoff to the UT side of things.

110

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 28/06/2026

📺Smiling Friends📺 When you have achieved a level of iconicism to where you can say this dialogue or animation is so "smiling friends core" then you have fucking made it. Somehow never got old, some of the funniest shit I've ever seen.

140

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 15/06/2026

🎞️Mean Girls🎞️ I've loved the musical for a long time but denied myself this gem of a movie. Weirdly really well paced in terms of conflict? It's pretty funny all the way through but the 3rd act had me dying that shit was hysterical.

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

📺How I Met Your Mother: S2📺 I'm not kidding, this has quickly become one of my absolute favorites. Never underestimate the simple art of good characters and comedy. You can put them in any given situation and you'll see just how fast you start to love it.

100

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

📺The Good Place: Season 2📺 Still one of the most creative shows I've ever seen. They have mastered the ability to take an idea that could've been stretched to a whole season, and maximize their potential every time. It's kinda perfect.

100

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

📺The Amazing Digital Circus📺 This show snuck up on me so hard. The first 3 episodes were pretty fun but MAN the 2nd half of the show put it up there with the best of the best in animation. If you were unsure before, please give the whole thing a shot, it's top tier stuff.

140

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 09/06/2026

🎞️TADC: The Last Act🎞️ The best word I could use to describe the finale is authentic. A heartbreakingly real story about the fear of letting other people in and the lies we tell ourselves to survive. I think this is the show's best episode and a brilliant way to end it off.

130

TrevZed @trevzed.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

🎮MARVEL: Cosmic Invasion🎮 It's as classic of a beat-em-up as you can get and it made me so happy. I missed this era of Marvel so much it was lovely seeing it revived with pretty much every branch of the universe you can think of. A great game with friends.

📺Best of* Superman: TAS📺 This was a curated selection of the show's standout episodes and this goes for the DCAU as a whole but there's something so cozy about these shows. Always finding fun new scenarios and villains to throw in to spice things up. Love Superman.

🎞️WARFARE🎞️ Seeing a reenactment this authentic really shows the haunting reality of what these people actually went through. It's intense that's for sure, if you have any interest in war and history I recommend it just don't expect to catch your breath.

🎞️Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge🎞️ I also don't know fuck or shit about MK but this was a pretty solid introduction! I feel like I got a good grasp of each fighter's personality, while still keeping that brutal carnage MK is known for. Patrick Seitz was raw as always.

🎞️The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep🎞️ I don't know fuck or shit about The Witcher but this was pretty cool. If nothing else Studio MIR always puts out some stunning animation, you can see the Avatar influence all over the character expressions and action-setpieces.

🎞️Kill Bill: Vol. 1🎞️ I had seen this one get referenced all the time in other shows but didn't really know what it was actually about. I did not expect a completely sincere, over the top anime and tokusatsu homage from Tarantino of all people. This was a ton of fun.
