I'm definitely looking for a 10th gen+ to appear. Keeping an eye on any of the business PCs like Thinkcentre, EliteDesk/ProDesk, & Optiplex

Majority of games don't hit that jackpot. Numerous examples of devs making many games that don't get attention. Whatever you believe is the opposite of what "everything" people complain about won't garner an audience. You should be proud of what you made regardless of large attention.

I'm constantly stuck at the "what kind of home server pc build do I want" phase. Currently just using an old laptop for now but would like Jellyfin with a newer intel cpu.

I wish Framework laptops had better pricing to help more people/companies justify switching over. Got one for someone who is tech illiterate with Fedora installed & thankfully she has had no issues using it for work.

Think the best response for those is just sending them to the carsized website with Chevy Bolt compared to the average SUV

010

Trevwerd @trevwerd.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Pretty compact for sure. Currently with the Ioniq 6 for now. Big fan of the range (~360 miles) & that helps with the 3+ hour drives to the city. Fits plenty in the trunk. Will grab one used once the lease is up. Hopefully other people will have figured out how to disconnect the car from the internet

010

Trevwerd @trevwerd.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Mainly, lower to the ground like an Elantra with less weight. I know the battery adds plenty of weight regardless. I do wonder why the Ioniq 6 is that long with even a lil bit more width to it than the 5. I see what you mean with the marketing of crossover/suv. Man, this is frustrating lol

Trevwerd @trevwerd.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Too much tech in every car & I wish I could afford an ev conversion of an older vehicle with knobs & buttons. I also wish the majority of the car manufacturers sold a small car/sedan. Seems like the only options are Ioniq 6 & Tesla (won't ever support Tesla)

Recommend looking for a CSA near you & see what options there are. Seems like a lot of these recalls are from larger distributors from the US so I start with my farmers market for the vegetables I need & then look at local grocers since they tend to stock different products than the big chains.

Just my vegetable garden alone this year has been an insane pollinator pocket but I also set up a garden bed with native pollinators too. Gonna be great when the natives start spreading in a year or two

With all the wild stuff happening with food lately, I highly recommend checking out Community Supported Agriculture (CSA). You can find local farms near you that you can subscribe to & you will receive seasonal food directly from them. Also, support local farmers markets.

It was just in six months ago that Gov. Pritzker signed into law new “protections” for immigrants, to great fanfare. Quite the juxtaposition to read the assurances given at the time compared to the reality we find ourselves in.

Our culture has a contingency which is obsessed with finding the magic phrase which will turn off bigotry but look, there just isn't one. Which is why we need both systems to prevent that bigotry from shaping policy and a culture which shuns and shames those who are bigoted.

It's the middle of the night in Chicago. Reporters and electeds are trying to figure out why a US citizen was detained by CBP, why her phone was inside an ICE detention center tonight, and where she is now. Also unclear what happened to the other five people she was detained with at O'Hare airport.
