iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I almost never post anything personal but I am so frustrated by how my elderly christian parents buy everything Donald Trump and Elon Musk say as gold, but they see my identity as a queer woman as me being naive and delusional. Sorry for the rant. I just need to express this into the void.

Two beauties. Photo from my collection, no documented info.

Black and white photo of a young white woman kneeling on a lawn in a long, loose dress patterned with an abstract crosshatch line block sort of print. She has a bobbed hairstyle with a headband. She looks down thoughtfully and cradles a tabby kitten to her chest.

The Pokémon Ampharos works as a PR mascot for Nagasaki Prefecture. (Ampharos was chosen because its tail lights up, and Nagasaki has a lot of lighthouses.)

A yellow Pokemon with a red spot on its forehead and black stripes on its ears stands in front of a Chinese dragon.

Black and white photo of a fluffy long haired tabby kitten - I think it is orange but could be grey. He is sitting 3/4 profiled to the left but looking straight at the camera with a teeny little blep poking out.

Superb mixed bean salad. 🫘 Photo from a book in my collection: The Book of Kittens, edited by Brant House, 1951.

Black and white photo of a white and tabby kitten crouching on a glass table, seen from below so that you can see all of its polydactyl toe beans pressed against the clear glass.

I imagine the executive class won’t react well if one of their own can be killed in the middle of a busy metropolis with no legal consequences. They’re going to lobby the Trump admin for massive surveillance bill called something like the “Job Creator Protection And Economic Stability Act.”

Look at this posh skrunkleton. Postcard from my collection, 1912. 🎩

Black and white photo of a medium haired tuxedo tabby sitting curled up in a top hat which is nestled in some kind of fur pelt. The cat has a contemptuous look on its face.

Fairy puff! Postcard from my collection, mailed 1912.

Black and white photo of an adorable puffy white kitten standing proudly under a flowing bush like a sassy little fairy creature. One of its eyes appears significantly lighter than the other. This could be weird lighting, heterochromia, an injury or infection, who knows. Very pretty!

“Go outside” they said. “You’ll love the fresh air” they said. Photo from my collection, no date/info.

A shorthaired white cat with tabby patches, looking disgusted while walking on what seems to be a stony beach.

"You know, I do believe in magic. We are born with whirlwinds, forest fires, and comets inside us. We are born able to sing to birds and read the clouds and see our destiny in grains of sand. But then we get the magic washed right out of our souls. We get it churched out, spanked out, washed out, and combed out. We get put on the straight and narrow and told to be responsible. Told to act our age. Told to grow up, for God's sake. And you know why we were told that? Because the people who were doing the telling were afraid of our wildness and youth, and because the magic we knew made them ashamed and sad of what they'd allowed to wither in themselves."

Time sits in layers.

Digital illustration by me. A wolf’s head littered with stars and galaxies within. A spiral of time, skulls and plants are subtle in the background

DONALD TRUMP & MIKE JOHNSON: I think cartoonist Mike Luckovich captured exactly what you & your Republican MAGA cronies have in mind: DAMAGING OUR SOCIAL SECURITY & MEDICARE PROGRAMS. That will have a devastating impact on vulnerable children. SHAME ON YOU! Your distractions won't work this time!
