Really nice for my first bsky post to be good news - the Association of Independent Museums has generous new funding from the Julia Rausing Trust for collections care and support starting next year, adding to our existing Pilgrim grants into an expanded scheme.

New Zealand has banned Greyhound racing, citing the unacceptable high level of injuries. Welsh government consultation is currently considering a phased ban in Wales. Will it be the next nation to end this support? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

The new Esmée Fairbairn Communities and Collections Fund is now open for applications 🥳 We're supporting projects using museum collections to improve inclusion and equitable working with community partners, and the new name better represents our dual focus on collections and inclusion.

Thank you BEYOND Conference for the opportunity share the Well-being of Future Generations Act with delegates. The importance of cultural wellbeing within the statutory definition of sustainable development is a powerful reminder that culture is not decorative but deeply structural.

Streic 84-85 Strike is now open at Amgueddfa Cymru. A powerful and evocative exhibition, it is a testimony of why museums matter. A space that can bring people together through conversations about the past, present and future. They are the public spaces we need more than ever before.

I attended the launch of Streic! 84–85 Strike! at Amgueddfa Cymru, marking 40 years since the Miners’ Strike. The exhibition’s stories, photos, and protest artefacts make the resilience & struggle of Welsh mining communities tangible – even for someone like me, without Welsh or mining connections.

This is almost unbelievable from Johnson. A slightly bizarre rant which says nothing about cars, or 15 years of Tory austerity and disinvestment, or growing (right wing) intolerance of young people. Would like to see what the streets he was playing on looked like.
