I keep running into the non-US use of the word “sat”. “We were sat at a table” is not the same as “We were sitting at a table” or “We were seated at a table”. Seems to be a Britishism? But I’ve seen it in fic and now on a brits-encounter-US-culture podcast.

Unfortunate . An alumni magazine with a article titled “the last iwai”, subtitled, “It’s the end of an era as Tyler Iwai ‘26 is the last of six Iwai brothers to don his Old Boy tie. 6 men’s, clearly brothers, all wearing the same tie, are pulling off the youngest one’s neckwear. The way “THE LAST” overlaps “IWAI” makes it read more like “THE LAST TWAT”
