This evening after a day driving we went to the Dosa Idly shop in Tolworth. Flat breads Garlic Nan and Paratha with chicken and chick pea curry. As good as it gets, what a place, go there for something special.

Large bird of prey came out of the Thames Ditton horse field woods an flew away heavily in the windless air toward the river seen from the Squires Car park a few minutes ago.

A pair of red kite over our house doing their poetic thing. Circling, wings unmoving, catching thermals above gaining hight without effort. Amazing indeed to see.

Between the confluence of the two lines at Raynes park is an oak woodland marooned in the interstices of the railway junction full of spring sounds. Next time you travel to Wimbledon or Waterloo you pass through on the up slow from Kingston on the fast up from Portsmouth. Look out next time.

This is an C18 English headband. This is the bottom one, the top has disintegrated. A striped cotton shirt with the colours in that order would replace it & look great. However I can’t find such a pattern. Saw this yesterday on someone’s back. Not the right order or colours or order… but…

Denbies vinyard Dorking where I go for my annual pilgrimage in search of Martin, swallow & swift. It’s a grey day, there they are doing their age old thing just as the Greeks and romans saw them thousands of years ago. I love them taking me back to childhood in Wye Kent, our house, orchard girt.

I must wish Sir David Attenborough a very happy birthday. His books and TV broadcast series have have educated and influenced me for much of my life. He is a wonderful modern example of the great British naturalists going back to the C17 including Gilbert White, Darwin, Peter Scott and many more.

This beautiful view of Boxhill from the Hillier garden centre coffee shop. Buzzard there and oh, what a joy to hear the repetitious song of thrush intermingling with that of the dulcet tones of both blackbird and the tropical cadences of the blackcap.

@benton2.bsky.social Sorry i could not help. Is it still under guarantee? I did not realise they were so chunky. All plastics of various kinds with the lens elements just pushed into rubber or nylon rings. Perhaps a phone call might get a response.

@grayseeallin.bsky.social Your style is impeccable as it evokes the great book illustrations that i love so well. I am English but have had a lifelong interest in American naturalism that so beautifully represents as you do the extraordinary solitude of the Northern scene. Lovely stuff for us all.

Butter and eggs, Lotus corniculatus and Taro Alocasia in my greenhouse in Kingston. Roots from Asian shops in our are planted in a water trough in my carp tank setup. This keeps the water clean for the fish, huge plants removing the nutrients for their growth.
