Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Hey, bsky brains trust, can anyone ID this weird tiny plant? Spotted in an ironbark woodland in south NSW, Australia My phone said it was a species of toad from east africa which, well, I'm not a scientist, but 021
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Moss flourishing in an old broken bottle From yesterday's walk through the ironbark forest 0131
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 02/09/2026More orchids from Monday's walk through the ironbark forest. I love seeing these tiny sparks of colour in such a harsh environment 052
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 01/09/2026an orchid from this morning's walk in the ironbark forest 061
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Some sundews from this morning's walk. It's always so rad to see wild carnivorous plants! 050
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 22/08/2026The pardalotes are BACK and are checking out last year's nesting burrows. I missed these goobers so much! 151
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Another photo from the local forest. I feel like it's really symbolic of something, I just don't know what? 171
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 12/08/2026One of the singing honeyeaters who has visited our front yard. PRRIP!! PRRIP!! 031
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 17/07/2026wowee zowee, I made a thing for giving yourself a migraine! I'm not sure why. 120
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 05/07/2026Flame robins from this arvo's walk. There's a flock of about two dozen birds living around a farm dam right on the edge of the ironbark forest. 040
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 04/07/2026If #swanboy was the Australian species of swan, he'd look like this. The eyes are terrifying but the beak looks rather smart, I think 161
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 24/06/2026#makeaterriblecomicday Here's 56 terrible comics! It was weirdly liberating to just draw stuff with sharpie on scrap paper rather than fretting about layers and drafts and, yknow, quality 071
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 24/06/2026I'm feeling worried- in previous years, the spotted pardalotes had their burrow-building well underway by now. This year, I've seen them ONCE, and that's it. I really hope these little goobers are okay. (one of my photos from two years back) 000
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 13/06/2026Winter is back, and so are the golden whistlers! (this guy was not doing any whistling, though) 010
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 08/06/2026What his right name is I've never heard, but he's known round here as Strider. 042
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 29/05/2026The first pardalote of the year! I was getting worried they might not come at all. It must be quite a young one- eventually it should look a lot more like my av photo! 031
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 16/04/2026Tree shadows and little spots of algae on the lake's surface. And a fish too! I just got the hang of drawing it when a cormorant arrived... 010
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 25/03/2026more important scholarship #birds #charts #tongheron 0157
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 24/03/2026@megacrit.com could you add the second minion to the campfire scenes? I always feel kind of bad for the second guy sitting in the dark by himself. 010
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 17/03/2026This turned out a bit more unsettling than I thought it would 062
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 09/03/2026Grasstrees are really weird plants, and really REALLY hard to draw. 040
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 07/03/2026I'm about a quarter of the way through another mini-comic, which I've resolved not to post until it's FINISHED. But here's four random panels because I really like them! 011
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 04/03/2026The local ironbark woodland on an overcast day. I've been trying to draw this environment for years now and this is the first result I'm happy with! 020
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 26/02/2026The grey fantail is VERY ANNOYED at having its spot occupied by this swamp wallaby. Sound on, if you're not afraid of furious squeaking From my trail cam in the local ironbark woodland #trailcam #fantail #wallaby #thatsmyspot 042
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 21/02/2026Remember those old Mad Fold-Ins? I gave myself a proper headache making this one. (Fold the page in so that the red triangles meet in the centre.) 273
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 19/02/2026Behold the noble spoonbill! I've been trying to get a decent photo of this guy for months now. He's got his breeding colours on; I hope there's more than one of them locally! 010
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 15/02/2026A warm summer arvo! Time to chill out by the pool. 030
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 13/02/2026More quite silly edits of the old James Bond comics. Gosh I love making these 161
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 10/02/2026More wizards to draw!! I want to be the Llano Earthstrider when I grow up 152
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 30/01/2026Come to the ironbark forest, where the birds are definitely normal! Really quite normal. #birds #ironbark #curse (this is a white-winged chough, one of Australia's more poorly-named birds) 010
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 21/01/2026I've been trying out my new trail camera. Swamp wallabies are such absurdly charismatic little guys! 010
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 12/01/2026Field guide for motorists. I actually think this could be useful. #birds 130
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 12/12/2025check it out! Jewel spider, Australocantha minax, in the front yard. The camera only just picks it up, but they put little "flags" on their webs to alert big dumb creatures to their presence so they don't blunder through them. Great idea imo. 000
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 11/12/2025More art for the scifi card game. This one is triggered by every player having a Pretty Bad Time, and sets up a smuggling network represented by a second face-up draw deck. (You'll get VP when other players use it; smugglers aren't in it for charity...) 030
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 10/12/2025Another bit of card art for the scifi game. This guy gives you a whole lot of draw/discard and a free turn IF you've lost a bunch of Planets. (You know things have gone poorly when your recon efforts are led by a fish in a fishbowl spacesuit riding a space moped.) 040
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 09/12/2025Working on art for my scifi card game project. This guy grants you a lot of draw/discard- provided the other players are having a bad time... 040
Tree Bucket @treebucket.bsky.social · 02/12/2025An orchid from last week's forest walk, with a VERY SMALL GUY on the lower petal 030
