Did this piece as a Secret Santa for Ryz in the Noodle Bowl last December! It's a reminder for me to get back to Art Nouveau; it's really one of my favorite styles.

Purple lightning dragon done for @fulgerion.bsky.social a few years back. This was originally an anonymous gift to him until we wound up talking in a server and he later figured out it was me by comparing styles. :p

A purple dragon in an electric storm. His left arm and hand are outstretched, emitting blue lightning. The top of the piece reads "Fulgerion" and the bottom reads "The Ever-Powerful Lightning." This piece was done in a psuedo-Art Nouveau style.

I did not originally sign this piece as it was an anonymous gift at first, until Fulgerion and I actually got to know each other (through different means) and he figured out that this piece was suspiciously reminiscent of my other pieces.

Another week, another #TimepieceTuesday. This week is a repost, but it's too cool not to repost. This is the restoration of a Black Forest shield clock from about 1900 that I did. This was such a fun restoration to do. Stay tuned for more restorations!

The clock upon purchase. The dial was yellowed and dirty, a hand was missing, the back of the case was falling apart, and the movement was seized and covered with black goop. This latter part was likely caused by someone putting too much oil into the clock, which mixed with dust, thickening enough to stop the clock from working.

The movement after being disassembled and given a thorough bath in turpentine. (I prefer mineral spirits, but I happened to have only turpentine on hand for this one.)
After this dried, it was ready to be reassembled.

The removal of the yellowed, dirty shellac took place while the movement parts were drying. Some paint came off as well, so colors were carefully mixed to match originals and the dial was retouched before new shellac was applied.

The restored clock in working condition. The weight was a spare and the pendulum (which I still need a bob for) was fashioned from an old coat hanger. A new minute hand was purchased to match the style of the existing original hour hand.

Another week, another #TimepieceTuesday. This week's selection is an elaborately painted clock by the New Haven Clock Co, circa 1850s. I have no idea if the painting is original or if it was done later. Interestingly, this clock has a counterfeit Chauncey Jerome label, misspelled as "Jeromm."

An antique Victorian era iron-front clock from around the 1850s with an elaborate hand-painted design. The majority of the design is done with gold paint, with a painting of a castle below the dial. It is unknown if the painting is original or later, as some areas of the painting are reminiscent of Art Nouveau styling. The time on the clock reads a few seconds before 8:03.

Done for TrueBlueFoxy over on FA a few years ago. I really need to draw more Art Nouveau.

Happy #TimepieceTuesday everyone. Today's feature is an antique "four-glass" or "crystal regulator" clock by Ad Mougin from about 1900. Not only is the pendulum made with vials of mercury, but the dial is uranium glass!

An antique four-glass or crystal regulator clock by Ad Mougin from about 1900. It reads a time of 12:00 (or perhaps 11:59) and has Roman numerals. The pendulum is made up of two vials of mercury in a brass frame. All of the sides of this clock are made of glass with the exception of the top and bottom.

The same clock from the previous picture with a black light shining on it. The dial is glowing a mint green under the light because it is made of uranium glass. The time on the clock now reads 4:31.

Happy #TimepieceTuesday to all the clock fans. My BF bought me this clock last year and I spent weeks restoring it. The dial was hand painted in 1926 in Alsace, France (I forget the town), but the movement is likely older. Interestingly, the winding arbors for the time and strike are switched.

An antique frame clock with a hand painted dial dated 1926 sits on an antique (but reupholstered) settee from the 1880s, next to a faux fur pillow.

These German and Alsatian wood-plate clocks are particularly easy to work on for me since time and strike trains can be disassembled and repaired (and reassembled) separately, unlike American and other European clocks where every part of the clock has to be put back together at once.

I'll start my art posting here with one of the highlights of my art journey: a full 12-month calendar for 2026 for the wonderful folks at draconity.org. All the months feature Dorg members with backgrounds styled on early 20th century postcards. The first four months:

The month of January: a cabin in a snowy setting with trees behind it. Members of Dorg colored white play and hang out inside and around the cabin. Features Merih'saan, Pascal, Roark, Selroth, Swanlizard, and Willow.

The month of February: Primarily greyscale Dorg characters fly and interact in a mountainous setting with a pink sky behind them. Characters are Cygnus, Insperon, N'hyra, NinianOfTheLake, Shimdra, and Weer.

The month of March: Primarily green dragons interact in a springtime setting including a lake in the foreground, trees in the background on the left, and a small house in the background on the right. Characters are Chiratractor, Fivannekinne, Hyraxylos, Kupono, Orrinvion, and Rhey'ven.

The month of April: Primarily blue characters mostly relaxing in a rainy meadow-like setting with trees both covered in leaves and flowers. One of them holds up the portion of the image showing the month itself. Characters are Alastago, Ghalte, Greenbeans, Leliana, and Zeekh.
