Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Well, that’s fucking ridiculous 🙄 I just can’t with Auspol. Labor’s disappointing, Greens could step up but the messaging’s also disappointing. Not enough Independents. We need to challenge all policy and messaging. Where’s the courageous leadership!?!?!? 022

Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 01/10/2026A political party isn’t a team like a footy team. It’s why America is where it’s at, not enough swinging voters, rusted ons voting for a “team” bearing little semblance to their values or lives. Rigid thinkers rust on regardless of where their party leads them, like a cult. 051
Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I’ve an open mind when it comes to voting (Centrist/swing). I analyse each party, good policy, fuck ups & avoidance of hard policy. Kudos to ALP for some great policy disappointed for avoiding difficult policy (FO with diplomacy). Great leaders are courageous and initiatiate change. #auspol 051

Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Thanks for that. It’s important to acknowledge how constituents feel and the disenfranchisement. It’s a common theme, not unusual but the voices of disenfranchisement are growing. 010

Reposted by TreacyTreacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Is tribalism the same across culture, football/soccer teams, religion, political affiliation? Let’s discuss as I see the pattern which I suspect is why things stagnate and when change is required, we end up accepting the status quo. #auspol 022

Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I also need to address your list. Integrity commission (Brereton/ Kathryn Campbell FAIL) AUKUS = fail GAZA and standing up for the murder of Australian aid workers = massive FAIL. Gambling advertising = FAIL Taxing raw gas, pre processing (We own it) Other than that they’re better than LNP. 000
Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I’ve usually voted Labor too. Many of Labor’s policies aligned with my values. Love some of their policy (GCT even though it means I have a large tax bill, fair enough). Raising wages in aged care/disability, major ✅ I’m with you on all the other issues. 020
Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/20263/3 Spare me “they’re better than anything on offer” or “gawd, don’t throw the baby out with the bath water” NO. We have free will, aren’t tribal or cultish, we can ask for what we believe will benefit all Australians & call out the powers that be. At the end of the day, they represent us. 020
Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Tribalism = my team. Your team can change. Republicans in the US, a perfect example. They’re in the death throws of defending their ideology and are so rigid in their thinking that any criticism of Trump (replace any leader here) is an affront to themselves. A total lack of awareness. 110
Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Political tribalism fascinates me. Maybe because I’m Centrist/swinging voter. For transparency, I’m progressive in my values. Times change, values through parties change- the cultish aspect of “I’m a …. replace with LNP, LAB” whether we label it as “rusted on” or “my team” is perplexing. 1/2 250

Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026“Candidate “, “Woodside Lobbyist”. I can see why the left, progressive Labor voters are triggered. You can’t mock people’s values. I think it’s more about One Nation harnassing the disillusionment, the electorate is facing some huge challenges, the sitting govt (majority) will always cop it. 000
Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Unfortunately they are unable to think critically, they always drop to the lowest common denominator. Often, they can’t think only feel. One Nation trigger their negative emotions which is all they’re capable of understanding. 130
Treacy @treacy.bsky.social · 30/08/2026The electorate’s facing a housing crisis, high crime rates, social issues. They blame Labor which has a massive majority in the state parliament, even though some of it’s federal. One Nation would probably exacerbate their problems but the “sticking it to Labor” was clearly the motivation. 130
