Camp Miasma was all that and more. Gonna swallow my pride and go to chain which I don't like to see it again but in 35mm. (Bonus: They're also showing the new Kiyoshi Kurosawa, fuck yeah.) Went in knowing nothing save the director and the two leads, so the rest of the cast was the best surprise.

Vinegar Syndrome have a massive sale (ten bucks plus change) on Radu Jude's "I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians", a black humored take on art, genocide, and remembrance. The disc includes an intro by Jude that I found useful to watch beforehand. Highly recommended.

... and some hours later I decided to catch up on my folk horror with Anchoress, which surprise! not only starred Christopher Eccleston but Annette Badland, aka Margaret Blaine aka the last Slitheen. However, the star of the show was Toyah Willcox! whose fierce af performance elevated everything.

Well, Girmay Zahilay's already on the top end of the disappointment scale. He's appointed Joy Hollingsworth to be on his transition committee, despite her votes to increase mass police surveillance and create SOAP/SODA, and trying to repeal the minimum wage. Also: Lisa "Seattle is Dying" Daugaard.

2. MADS: Nice trick! French young adults snort wet drugs, which one should never do. Stunning filmmaking, and the highlight is first-timer Laurie Pavy who gives one of the best horror performances I have ever seen.
