Prototypes mk1 (blue) and mk2 (red) alongside my completed Cyberdeck (green and orange). Now I just need to fix the filesystem corruption that happened from powering it on/off on accident too many times during assembly and disassembly 😅

Three Cyberdeck cases laid out from left to right: blue and black prototype, a red case with a black tech skull and crossbones embossed on it prototype, and the finalized design in olive green with an orange tech skull and crossbones embossed on it

Three Cyberdeck cases laid out and open from left to right: blue and black prototype with a black tech skull and crossbones embossed inside it, a red case prototype with orange hinges and locking latches up top, and the finalized design in olive green with orange hinges and latches. The final version also has a handle on top for easy carrying.

A view of the cyberdeck cases from the back. From left to right: olive green cyberdeck case with orange patches and hinges. You can see the raspberry pi is installed in this final version. Followed by a red prototype cyberdeck case in the middle with orange slim latches (these were too slim so the final ones are thicker). And finally on the far right is the blue prototype cyberdeck case without any latches.

Mk2 of my prototype Cyberdeck is now printed and assembled. I added latches to the screen frame to hold it shut, re-enforced the raspberry pi holder, and adjusted the keyboard holder to fit the keyboard better (as well as moved the techie crossbones to the outside). Next print may be the final one!

A red 3d printed cyberdeck with black inlaid techie crossbones (with a crossed keyboard and mouse rather than bones, a floppy disk eye patch, and the ware driving symbol for an open wireless network). There are orange latches at the top and orange hinges on the sides. Two cables are visible connecting from the side to the back.

Side view from the right of the red cyberdeck with orange hinges. The keyboard and screen are visible. On the back of the screen five black buttons (printed in TPU) can be seen.

Side view of the red cyberdeck from it's left side. From this angle you can see two micro USB plugs on the side of the screen connecting it to the raspberry pi on the back. It's bright orange hinges, keyboard, and screen are all visible (please excuse the dusty and smudge screen, I'm not taking the screen protector film off until I have the final version printed).

Front on view of the red cyberdeck, the screen frame says "Positronic Industries" and the screen shows the Raspbian start up screen. The keyboard currently has it's lights turned off but does fit in the keyboard tray now.

I decided to mess around some in blender and get a video of what my Cyberdeck case looks like now. I plan to make only minor tweaks from here and once I have a good fit for everything I'll be printing it in Olive Green PCTG and "Bitcoin Orange" PCTG.

I had two 1kg rolls of PCTG filament delivered today from 3D Fuel (I plan to print my Cyberdeck case out of this since it's much stronger than PLA) and they included a little baggy of gummy bears. The heat and weight of the spools however turned them into a gummy sheet

I'm thinking about printing the final cyberdeck in olive green PCTG with orange accents and I need to research how well transparent TPU may work for push button contacts so I can expose the screen buttons and not have the raspberry pi's power button raw doggin it

And now that the back is printed here's more pics. I've got a number of modifications I need to make before I print the next version but I'm pleased with how close this is to being good (my ports for the screen are too deep so I can't plug it into the raspberry pi currently 😅

Here's a look at the latest prototype prints for my Cyberdeck!

A bright blue cyberdeck casing with the screen in place and no keyboard in its keyboard tray. In the tray is a inset techie version of a skull and crossbones. It consists of a skull silhouette with a floppy disk eye patch, crossed keyboard and mouse, and the war driving symbol for an open wireless network. The screen holder has its screen slid in place and reads "Positronic Industries" along it's bottom.

I forgot to post an update on my Cyberdeck! So here's what my blender model is looking like and I'll quite post this with the prototype bits I've printed so far.

An open cyberdeck case which has text on the bottom of where a screen will go that reads "Positronic Industries" and the area a keyboard will go has a techie version of a skull and cross bones. It has a floppy disk eye patch, a cross keyboard and mouse, and the war driving symbol for an open wireless network behind it. The image is a viewport shading version of the model all in greyscale with no textures/colors applied.
