Done! We're done! Our final tally: 288 patches, for a quilt 96 meters long! Off to the fabricators on May 19th - greeting the world marching through the capital on July 25th at London Trans+ Pride. Bloody hell - thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts.

The perfect Leslie Feinberg quote for a memorial patch...

'The sun was hot and the breeze was cool. I felt happy. Nature Held me close and seemed to find no fault with' - a quote from Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg, in a ring on a blue background, finished with the name 'Sovereign' and the dates 1989-2022

A LONG day of steaming, photography and cataloguing - but we're halfway there! It's staggering to see this all come together, even before the patches are sewn together into a quilt - the of courage, love, and beauty in these squares is a privilege to experience. Thank you! More tomorrow

A photography station rigged up with stands and lights, the camera directed at a pink patch arranged on a board on the floor. The patch is decorated with the appliqué words: 'Jesus Says Trans Rights' - in the centre of the words is a traditional image of Jesus, with the trans flag pouring from the Sacred Heart.

And Love and Rage from London Trans+ Pride this Monday night. Hard at work prepping for our archiving processes in the next few weeks (photography! Descriptions! Cataloguing!) - but Love and Rage is definitely the vibe. And a hell of a lot of pride and joy in our community.

A painted flaming heart on a pink fabric background. The heart is red, the flames are orangy-yellow. 'Love and Rage' fabric appliqué letters on the heart - the 'and' is an ampersand sign crossed with a trans Mars/Venus symbol.

A trans spider from Birmingham: 'Your Phobias are Irrational'...

A pink fabric patch, with a spider's web drawn on in blue ink, and an appliqué spider in white and blue on top. Text reads 'your phobias are irrational'. There are two tiny hearts by the spider's fangs.

The initial sketch for a gloriously proud demon from Bristol...

A black ink sketch on white paper, sitting on top of a pink fabric patch, with pens waiting to be used. The sketch is of a fabulous demon with a snatched waist and top surgery scars.

"Mushrooms find a way to grow even in the most adverse environments. Just like trans folks, they have and will always be here. The mycelium network is like the community - supporting each other even in ways that can't be seen." Thank you, Devarim - and thank you all

Thank you to everyone who came to our workshop in London today - it was such a beautiful moment to catch our breath together with laughter and warmth and creativity. May we all be fungi under the broader trans mushroom umbrella...

Half a day, and we've already sold out? Thank you all so much! Please keep an eye on this account and @goodlawproject.bsky.social - we'll be sharing further details about in-person decorating workshops and the march this summer, and the more support we get, the greater the chance we can expand!

Blue text over an image of a person sewing a patch on a yellow table. The text reads: 'Sold out already?! Thank you everyone! Your enthusiasm for this project is more than we anticipated, and our patches have all sold out! We will share more ways to get involved soon, including in-person workshops that will take place around the UK. If you want to help us deliver (and potentially expand) this project, please donate!
